How I'd fix the college system

Steps to fix college in the US:
1. Change student debt/ bankruptcy laws to drive down prices
2. Cut Fed/State funding for schools that employ professors that have extremest political views coinciding with arrests
3. Cap interest of private student loans
4. Provide more low interest gov funded student loans

I think corporations should buy all the colleges and institute indentured servitude. Lets make everything corporate and further concentrate wealth and power. Should be great.

Trade school have the right idea
You actually study specifically what you are going to be doing

I'll say, having talked to very intelligent people who've not studied anything in the humanities (or at least not much), I can see why schools force people to take certain classes unrelated to the diploma they're going for. The worldview of people uninterested and un/understudied in the humanities is, in my experience, formulaic and dry, and in the worst cases, potentially dangerous. The human component needs to be taught and emphasized and I'd imagine learning other shit increases mental flexibility too and I say that as someone who has deep troubles focusing on things he's not interested in.

If we're building a society and sustainability, happiness, equitability and connectivity aren't the building blocks and we're not learning from history, then what is the point? You can be Brainiac McGee, but if there's no humanity, it's for naught.

If you aim for equatability you did not learn from history.

If you aim for equatability you did not learn from history.
History is filled with monarchy, slavery, war, genocide and the denial of basic rights over dumb shit like skin color, where people were born, gender, etc, if you're not aiming for it you're ignorant at best, a monster at worst. Democracy is built on representation and an uneven distribution of resources causes suffering and instability

How would I fix the Univeristy system? Just not attend unless you're an athlete. Go to a trade school and learn something useful or go to the military and get good job training and experience.

Why would i be monster for not denying reality?

The only existing distribution is always gonna be uneven.

Like I need a degree

There is something actually wrong with the poster. Just avoid in general. He will snap andj start firing off tangential questions. It's a waste of time.

Nah, that still doesn’t give any incentive for the college itself to do a good job of educating.

The fix is to make colleges give out low/no interest student loans themselves.

At that point, if they ever want to see their money paid back, they will have to do everything in their power to prepare the student for the workforce and funnel them into degree fields that will actually pay.

FL and GA figured this shit out decades ago.

Its not a bad idea. Its just unnecessary bc of that the market regulates itself. Corporations know a worthless degree when they see one. Students know that companies know this and enroll accordingly. Colleges know this and offer decent education. Thats the theory.

People enroll in worthless gender Studies crap because not all market participants are competant and have complete Information. So theres always some inefficient allocation of resources. Thats the result of freedom. People make mistakes. But thats just me, I could be wrong.

This is the real grift IMO. It's why the stat about there being more female graduates than male but men get paid more on average is misleading, really depends on what you graduate in.

The government doesn't want people to know useful things like how to keep a perfect credit score out of high school. The irony is college messes up your credit you get some dumb credit cards at that age.

Adults who refer to social services as “free” shouldn’t be able to vote. Id probably be up for branding these people for easy identification.

Free. Lol, fucking cans.

Go download a full course description, for example for an IT degree. Look at the core and non-core courses and see how many crap units, they force you into that are not even related to IT.
almost half (speaking from experience)

So your idea basically eliminates the need for college all together. Any business would rather train an employee their own way vs paying for someone else to do it. Makes no sense.

Plus, we already have these "train you for the position you need" scenarios. They're called apprenticeships.

They were all the rage in medieval times

No need to waste your time with all that useless book stuff. You picked your career at age 12 and by 20 you were ready to do that one thing (and only that one thing) until you die.

Brilliant!
