Let me start by saying that I think Jones will beat OSP and he will probably do it easily too.

But I think the fight carries a little suspense because of how OSP matches up physically with Jones.

OSP is only an inch shorter than Jon and has the second longest reach in the division.

Skillwise Jones is significantly ahead of OSP; we're talking miles ahead.

But there's one thing Jon likes to do: fight according to his size. In other words, his fighting style is built around the fact that he is tall and has the longest reach in the division. The typical Jones' fight consists of him hitting his opponents with long shots and keeping them at bay.

If Jones fights OSP that way, I think things can get interesting. OSP is tall and long enough to strike and counter with Jones at range and OSP can confidently exchange with Jones seeing as Jon has never displayed KO power. If the fight stays standing, people will be surprised at how competitive OSP can make it.

Now, If Jon makes wrestling and grappling an issue, there's nothing I've seen from OSP that tells me he can hang. I think Jones can get this fight to the ground at will. If he decides to wrestle and fight on the ground, I suspect we'll see a classic Jon Jones 12-6 elbow finish.

Those 12-6 bows be legal now, yall.

Outside of clipping Jones early with something huge, I don't really see OSP having much of a chance whatsoever in this fight.

But anything can happen in the fight game.

PART of Jones' style is fighting at distance and keeping his opponents at bay, but that really isn't even a huge part of his game. He also uses a lot of clinch work and dirty boxing as well as his wrestling.

I think that he also is good at not forcing things, and taking the opportunities that open up because of his opponents' mistakes.

Mistakes are going to tell the tale of this fight, and OSP makes TONS of them. Because of his athleticism, he's gotten away with tons of mistakes in other fights...that shit won't fly with Jones.

Jones has the superior skillset but nobody should sleep on anybody in the fight game period. Come in to fight nights being your best no matter who the opponent is

OSP always looks sleepy to me. I think this will make Jones feel sleepy too, and they'll both start yawning in the middle of the cage. Bring a blankie!

Ok, I think this is a mismatch, but I'm still looking forward to it.

Rampage thinks its gonna be some black on black crime.

You get a like TS.
Not a Conor thread, thanks!

I expect a fight like Bones Vs Glover, lot of clinching, elbow in the pockets, few takedown.

Bones UD.

You never know what's going to happen in a fight, but I don't think OSP's athleticism presents any challenges to Jones above and beyond a guy like Bader. OSP doesn't really fight like a guy with an 80" reach.

I think Jones goes old school, clinches him, takes him down, and pounds his face in within 2:00 of the first round.

I hope OSP knocks him the fuck out and makes real MMA headlines

bones should play this smart. dont engage for a few minutes and try to tie him up against the fence as long as possilbe, gas the shit out of him. You dont want to take many of his left body kicks.

OSP could catch him. Obviously he's a powerful striker but if Jones is smart and clinches and tries to take him to the mat, he should be able to handle him. I am excited to see Uber Jones or Jones 2.0 or whatever you want to call him.
