Movies How has Aliens v Predator been handled so poorly?

A budget thing probably. Other than Prometheus,alot of these movies skimp out on the budget needed to do what your talkin about. AVP had fuckin only 3 Predators in it. The series has taken a hit enough that it probably wont make its money back. That 2018 movie should have never ever been made or released so who is going to give these series an Aliens (1986) type budget?? it has to work its way back up to that somehow.

Prey,while not great,was at least a step in the right direction,and I liked it more than Predators AVP 2,and the movie that shall not be named. Not that this means that much.

Still,Alien creature needs a movie at least as good as Prey and both need to build things back up before attempting an AVP 10 billion dollar TOTAL WAR in NYC extravaganza with top actors and latest tech.

Prey got the right idea that the Predator is the fuckin heavy,and aint gonna be nobodies friend,to be feared at all times,and Alien Isolation the video game shows how fucking unbelievably terrifying and hostile the Xenomorph can be portrayed still.

I seem to recall the first AvP video game having excellent, excellent multiplayer if you could get a few friends together for it. I liked the second movie. Overall though? Yeah, the content has a C- grade on capitalizing on the material.

both AVP PC games were fuckin sick...

There's so much you can do with it and between video games and movies it never seems to be handled with care. Two of the biggest movie franchises of all time and they can't find a director who has even seen the originals?

Because they gave the project to bad writers, directors, producers, etc.

Like, they all can’t be Alien Hunters. Who’s building the buildings and spaceships? Who’s running their planet or planets?

Saw the video that I can't fucking embed! Basically 13 ranks, the lower ranks are sent out for hunting/invasion stuff while the higher ranks were more or less administrators in their home planet. I guess the unblooded(2nd lowest rank) are assigned with manufacturing/building.

Well Ridley Scott did direct Prometheus and Covenant...
and those 2 movies were uh...

Ridley is such a good director I have no idea how he messed up those two movies, especially when you consider how much of a masterpiece the first one was.

Well some people actually hold the original movie in high esteem and these IDIOTS turned it into a bad comedy.

"Hey you know what might be funny if we made it like Gremlins or some shit LOL YEA, Also lets put kids in it,and have them save the day!"

They asked Arnold if he wanted to be in it,and he saw the script and refused.

They made the AVP movies kid friendly for some reason, despite the fact both franchises are R rated. They should have based the movie on the game.

This is a good point. Thats why they gotta get back to basics on how the Predator is used.

I'm serious.

It cuts the movie runtime in half, you skip all of the annoying human characters, and the rest is a lone Predator taking on an entire nest of Xenomorphs led by a PredAlien.

I said when it came out that it was the best Alien or Predator film, of both franchises in 20 years, and I'm sticking to that opinion.

Requiem was decent. The predator coming to clean up was legit. Had some bad ass tech and didn’t give a fuck. He was a massive upgrade from the jobbers in the first one.

The Aliens were solid too.

Humans were definitely the weak link in the movie. The main characters were dumb as hell. Same with the military that got sent in.

I think AVP was ok when I saw it,it just didnt age well,and had some annoying hollywood tropes. The fact that two of the three Predators get killed so quickly,and the remaining one gets facehuggered...ok lets snip the balls right off this "War"

Even when I was watching in the theatre I was pissed off about that. You are promoting a war between the species,but its just 3 hunters and they are all doomed pretty early on. Fuck off.

There have been numerous graphic novels on the premise. Some good,some bad.

Predator: Eternal,for instance,was an absolute banger of a take on the subject. So it can be done. These comics are usually done in 4 part mini-series though,so that might have something to do with it.

Agreed! These movies probably make enough money,even if their shit,so they wont try to make a good one.

Alien isolation shows if you just go back to the essence of why this shit was good in the first place,instead of doing stupid "origin" crap,it can work.

The Alien in that game is pure unbridled hostility.
