How good was Felix Savon?

Don't know. Had he turned pro in 1992, his strongest opposition would've been Bowe, Holyfield, Lewis, Tyson.

With Teofilo Stevenson I'm pretty sure though that Ali and Holmes would've handled him stylewise.

Odlanier Solis turned pro (in a much weaker era than Teofilo's and Savon's) and we saw what happened ...nothing.

No offense but is there a reason to compare these fighters other than that they're Cuban?

Yes, they were decorated heavyweights as amateurs. It's really impossible to say until they turn pro.
Maybe he would've been Lennox Lewis biggest foe in the 1990s or maybe Lennox would've knocked him out in 2-4 rounds.

Solis also looks like he has trained about 10 hours combined since he defected. Savon's size, boxing ability, and physical talents compare quite well with anyone from that very deep era. Whether or not he would have shown himself truly elite in that era is tough to say definitively as we never saw him over 12 and without headgear, but it's pretty clear that he was immensely talented.

I don't know ...I have feeling that those lenghty guys Stevenson and Savon had a glass chin.

I don't think a fight vs. Lennox or Tyson would've turned out well for him. But as I said: Will never really know.

are you fucking retarded?

Some good old street talk from a jaded sherdogger. I'd like to continue the intellectual & spiritual locking horns, but as I see it, you seem entirely unarmed.

Stevensons biggest olympic wins were guys like Duane Bobick. We know how his pro career went when he boxed a world class heavyweight for the 1st time.

Amateur is just a different deal and the success doesn't always translate over to the pro career, we've seen it severel times. I was never even interested to see someone like Roberto Cammarelle turn pro.

Waiting for your response (I take nutball for 200).

so your basing your feelings on them having glass chins because of who he fought and the fact they are 'lengthy'

sherlock homes is in fucking trouble

The world is big enough for two master sleuths.

There is probably more cause to compare Solis with Lewis and Klitshko than with Solis. The recent history of Olympic gold winners in the pros is pretty good. I think Savon, the best and maybe hardest hitting of any of them as an amateur, would probably have done very well as a pro.

Watching some of his fights he's got the length and right hand of Wilder, but is thicker and much better schooled.

It's a shame we never saw him as a pro.

Would he have been an ATG as a pro?
There's no way to know this..some of the best Amateurs of all time didn't amount to much as pros.. it's like asking if Usain Bolt could have been the best marathon runner ever based on his 100 yd dash performances.

Like most Cuban ammies, his best wins where against very young kids like Tua and Briggs while he enjoyed a significant age and experience advantage

Anyway, hard to imagine him not winning a world title if he turned pro

More like asking if he could win the 200 based on his 100 (metre?) dash.
