How good is Suarez?

Her striking doesn’t need to be elite or even overly good. The threat of the takedown will make girls freeze up in front of her, allowing her to strike above her actual skill level.

She’s likely going to win the belt but at the very least, she should be able to be top 3

I've been reading a lot about Tatiana Suarez and I saw her fight at UFC 228 when she demolished Carla. She's one of the very few interesting WMMA fighters at the moment.

She's clearly a large female. Not big enough to handle any of us, but definitely big enough to toss around some 115-125lb female midgets.

She's clearly a great wrestler and if I'm not retarded I think she was going to be at the 2012 olympics for wrestling.

She's the "female Khabib" according to a lot of people. I agree in a sense, but I haven't seen enough of her to truly accept that narrative.

Top things she needs to be a champ:
Iron chin
Existent stand up skills
Boxing / kick boxing defense
Great cardio
Ground game (already has)

Carla's wrestling isn't bad, but you gotta wonder what would happen if Suarez fought some of the very top. I think her style is terrible for Rose & Joanna.

Here she shows some of her stand up skills with a kick I could throw in my sleep but nevertheless, it's still effective.

She's relatively inexperienced with only 7 fights, but that sort of goes for all WMMA fighters. 5 fights is considered an experience fighter at this stage.

So just how good is Suarez? Is she the next dominant WMMA champ?

Future champ. I would be shocked if she never wears the belt.

She is good while still being a bot green I do not think she beats Joanna her style is tailor made for Joanna to beat.

I think she beats Andrade though I am not even sure Rose is going to ever fight again.....

Imo she will be champ eventually.

The next champion 100%

I said it last year and I will say it again, that SW belt is hers, it doesn't matter who the current champ is, no one is stopping her.

I wanted to vote for championship material but picked top contender instead, piece of shit smartphone.

Nina is good but Suarez is going to destroy her.

Agreed. She's the class of the division.

She almost got finished by Amanda Cooper. That said, she’s improved since then but I think any girl with good Jiu Jitsu like Dern would sub her.

Are those really the odds? Not sure why anybody would even bet on WMMA in the first place. Very inconsistent results barring the dominant champions like Valentina. Nina didn't look too bad and she beat a 2x title challenger

1. Shev isnt a dominate champion yet. Nunes is and so was Joanna and Honda.

2. Actually WMMA is a safer bet then mens as the chance of a flash KO ruining your picks is way lower.

Just saying at least use factual info to back up a statement and use relevant correct examples.

As I have said in other threads, I believe the only ones in the division who will trouble her are Andrade and Jedrzejczyk. If I had to bet, I would put my money on Suarez against either of them.

Fair call I would put my Money Suarez to handle Andrade and lose to Joanna.

Back when JJ was slaying girls I made a thread about Suarez being the next championship and I got who da fook'ed by Sherdog. I still stick by my word.

I think Suarez is championship material. Obviously, she has the wrestling pedigree and size. But, unlike a lot of female wrestlers who transition to MMA, Suarez also has great finishing skills and instincts while on the ground. This puts her a step above the competition. Fighters that regularly finish their opponents always have the potential to end a fight in a instant. And, fighters with a lot of finishes are more intimidating...and get a leg up in the mental warfare leading up to a fight. If she finishes Ansaroff (no easy task), no one is going to want to step into the cage with her.

I think Weili Zhang may be the dark horse who can take them all.

She's a beast, she's like a female Khabib in that division. Gonna be champ for a while.

I think Weili Zhang would call out anybody ranked above her.

Yeah, unlike Joshua vs Rulz... -freaking 4000... money in the bank lol

Indeed, she might. But, that might just be labelled "foolhardy". Weili also has a lot of potential, but as of now I think their is a definitely skill discrepancy between her and the top 3 in SW.

Henry disagrees:

Seriously though, if you rewind about 10 seconds, he talks about her wrestling acumen.
