What’s the upside of Chris Curtis going down to 170? He was game at 85, but did get outsized. Can he crack the top 15 Welter Weights? Hmm!
He beat up a tough Max Griffin tonight fellas!

He could crack the bottom of the rankings. WW now is weak after the top 7 or 8. Max is a good gatekeeper. He took a round from Morales and went 15.

He could make it all the way to a decision.

as far as he went at MW which is just crying after every split decision loss even as he purposely point fights

Not very far.
This brand of "man dance" he and Sean do is really outdated and just enough to edge past unathletic contenders and not nearly enough to beat the litany of good grapplers and leather-throwers at 170

How is Sean's outdated when he beat the piss out of Izzy, Imavov, Brendan, Abus, Costa with it? That's 5 of the current top 15.... He beat a third of the ranked guys with it including 2 of the top 5, former champ and the number 1 contender. He went to a split with the champ the 1st time and a split with Cannonier too.

The only MW that made Sean look basic and outdated was Poatan. He's basically only won or gone to SD losses otherwise.

That division sucks and I don't think he "Beats the piss" out of anyone other than a washed Costa in a rematch.
DDP showed how easy it is to deal with Sean if you just pressure forward. He backs up and wilts.

There's a reason Sean hasn't taken a fight. He's been figured out and his bravado doesn't match his abilities. Great performance against Izzy. He's not going to replicate it.

He's turning 38 and just went to a split decision against a washed Max Griffin (who was never a world-beater even at his best).

So I'd say this is about as far as Chris goes: close fights against bottom-rung guys.

Fringe-top 15 but not for long via his age.

I was going to recommend a Holland fight if Curtis had a good performance tonight. Unless Holland has a similar performance against D-Rod, then Curtis vs Matthews sounds good. Kind of lazy matchmaking but logical.

Or Curtis vs Chiesa?

Fight felt fake like fixing for betting. Like as if betting activity is 40% of the revenue. Or did they fight this bad ? Notice the commentators aren't allowed to score live realistically and sometimes pretend a fight was close that was clear. Tin foil hat or anyone else suspicious ?

DDP is generational talent and won 20 of 23 his fights by finish. He finished both Whittaker and Izzy, two former champs.
2 of these 3 fights are against Sean and one of them was SD with many major outlets and majority of fans on MMA decisions thought he lost.
It wasn't easy and even if it was easy, noone except Khamzat can repeat it. Top3 Imamov was completely outmatched by Strickland in their bout.
