How does Maia vs Hendricks go?

Maia is an absolute beast. I really would like to see him fight Robbie for the title soon but I think he'll fight once more before that and I think the fight that would make sense would be the winner of Hendricks/Gastelum which is scheduled for UFC 200.

How do you think a fight between Demian and Johny would play out? I think on paper anyway if you look at the top guys in the division, Hendricks and Woodley are the 2 guys that I think could give Maia a tough fight right now. Obviously due to them being such great wrestlers with natural TD.

So how do you think Maia vs Hendricks would go? I think that is no doubt the fight that should happen given Big Rigg wins in July

Hendricks doesn't deserve that big a fight right now. You'd be rewarding the guy for missing weight and bitching out, getting violated by Thompson, and beating Gastelum. That shouldn't get you a fight with one of the top 2 contenders.

Hendricks is one of the biggest names in the division, if he beats Kelvin he will get a big fight. I would guarantee that

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm saying it shouldn't be against Maia. Hendricks isn't the same guy anymore after those tooth and nail wars with Lawler. Wonderboy made it look easy against him.

Personally don't think Hendricks should get to fight Maia if he beats kelvin. But it's a good fight given how tied up the division and ranking wise etc. WW just so stacked atm.

Yeah but I don't think Maia would make it look easy and I think that's a super interesting fight that could easily main event a Fight Night or co headline a FOX card. Like I said it's pretty hard to imagine Maia dominating Big Rigg like he has everyone else. That fight sells. And while I think Maia is an absolute beast and has been on one hell of a run, I think if he proved himself against a top 5 guy and a stylistically tough matchup for him, he would no doubt 100% be the next man to fight for the belt

They don't remember he's always had great TDD, is tough as nails, and is heavy handed.

Against Maia, Hendricks would keep it standing. That's his bread and butter in a 3-round fight, and Maia's most vulnerable.

I'd heavily favor Johnny in this matchup.

Wouldn't mind seeing it, and I honestly think Hendricks would KO Maia. Lawler vs Woodley winner should get the winner of Rory vs Wonderboy IMO though, and then Maia vs Hendricks for the next shot

That's the point. It's a tough fight for Maia and you risk killing off a contender. It isn't wise. Same thing ufc is doin with wonderboy vs Rory. If Rory wins which is highly possible you kill off a contender. UFC needs to learn a thing or two about handling a weight class.

I agree. Also Maia has a much better shot against Wonderboy than He would against Lawler. Just like Wonderboy would have a better chance against Lawler than against Maia. Styles make fights.

They're are no shortage of contenders at 170. Hell Nick Diaz may get the shot before all these guys

Would love to see that fight, except for the fact that I'm such a huge Maia fan, & I think Johnny would give him a stylistic nightmare.
