How does Jon Jones cut weight so easily?

Just curious, I've been watching UFC 200 Pre-fight press conference and Jon Jones talks about Cormier's struggle to make weight and how easy it is for him.

First of all, I know Jon Jones Nut huggers get a bit sensitive... I would like to point out he is an AMAZING fighter.

He is extremely big in terms of height, reach and frame for a Light Heavyweight and would actually be fairly big if he moved to heavyweight for that division too.

How is he able to cut weight so easily?
ppl who use this supplement are often times very skinny

no he isnt. He currently weighs 216 and has shown time and time again he is under 2-3 weeks out from a fight.

He's stated he walks at 225-226 many times and so does almost every other LHW. 216 is because he is already getting his diet right.

he skips leg day

“I was 240 [pounds] at one point two months ago, lifting all types of crazy weight”

"I'm totally comfortable going rounds with big guys, and now that I have the strength of a heavyweight my confidence is through the roof," Jones told Helwani.

"I actually think I'm physically stronger than a lot of them right now, and my skills speaks for themselves."

He's very tall and lanky, but his skeletal frame isn't huge.

That and dudes calves are legit pencils.

Someone should tell him staying on your toes round after round instead of fighting flat footed will grow them things.

Especially if you stay at 240 instead of cutting to 205 ;)

Chicken legs.

He's not one of these big-boned LHWs like Forrest or Rampage, he's a tall skinny kid.

Like Cowboy at 155, Condit at 170 or Anderson at 185.

Dude had to take up fucking power lifting just to get to 238. Cain, Stipe snd JDS just need to brush their teeth to walk around with that amount of mass.

It's easy to cut weight when you are ducking HW.

He's got very little body fat and his legs are pretty thin making him overall not that heavy.

'Cause unlike most of the fat fucks in this "sport", Jon Jones can actually follow a diet while putting in the proper amount of work necessary to get in shape.

He doesn't have a hard cut cause he mostly just strips away his body fat through diet and exercise, instead of temporarily sucking the water out of his body through saunas and baths. Like, you know, most athletes in any other sport do.

Because he doesn't fucking weigh that much relative to other fighters in his division. How hard is that to understand?

Additionally, DC has kidney problems and can't cut a lot of water, so he has to lose as much body fat as possible. That's why it's harder for him to make weight than a lot of other guys.

On other note, LOL @ the idiots around here who insist that Cormier could make 185 if he wanted to "because of his small frame" when he has to struggle just to stay at LHW.

Big is not equal to tall. In terms of weight he isn't a big LHW. He's normal I would say. His legs are as skinny as we all see which will be something significant he would have to change to go to heavyweight

How many times does this have to be said?

Dude works the shit out of his legs and they haven't gotten any bigger. It's genetic. That's the way that they are always going to look.

You're kind of saying that he's underweight for his frame, like chicken legs is something you were born with. It means he has plenty of room to grow.

If he can get to 240 in a few months doing squats and deadlifts, 265 is a hop skip and a jump if he ups the volume on the leg presses.

He' s no ectomorph who can't gain weight, he just trying to stay in a certain class. *cough.

So I think we agree. That his legs are or would be a problem at hw

You do know guys like Ramage, Bonnar, Forrest were 240lbs plus right? Hell prime Wanderlei weights more than Jones.

he also doesn't balloon up between fight(cough...Hendrix).
