How does Dana White stay as President after selling the UF for $4 billion?

They're giving him a small % to stay on as president I imagine. Cash out his 9% and stay as pres with 6-7% in the new company (according to Botter)
 
Dana White is the face of the UFC. If I spent 4 billion I would want some old stuff in place.

Minimize the destabilization caused by new ownership. That's it. Ultimately they are in the business of making money, so obviously you want to keep it in the hands of the guy that led it into this huge money maker. But even if they didn't want Dana, they would definitely keep him over a transition period.

If I were Dana I would reject this deal for anything less than 10%
 
They bought his original shares then gave him some back in return for his services as president.

He's not just the president at this point. He's more of a personality or face than a decision maker. All on TV with a show and shit.

I know some people can't stand him but he's a big reason why the sport is this big now. 4 billion.... who the fuck would've thought?

As slimey as he is they know he is needed. Its a weird combo that works some how.
 
The UFC is Dana's legacy, it's not for the Fertitta's as they have other things and were more in it for the money. What's sad but interesting is that Dana built the UFC with the Fertitta's cash but before all is said and done he'll probably be let go and we'll all have a big flame war about how he sucked vs. he built the UFC.
