I think this is a fight that ends in a decision with both fighters playing it safe.

I see DC getting his takedowns and wearing Stipe down. I’m not sure how good Stipe’s gas tank is when he’s the one being pressured but we know DC has great cardio.

I see DC winning via UD or if Stipe somehow gets tired DC winning by GNP TKO.


How do you see Cormier vs. Stipe going?
 
like Jds vs Cain 1 but It will last a few more minutes.
 
Hopefully the best man wins!!! but I think Stipe is going to get the finish.
 
im for cormier because it would be very entertaining when cormier gets two belts... what would happen? jon jones beef again... what guy he would fight next? etc.

but my prediction is stipe has 60% chance to win this fight.

there is no way it will be boring, with 2 pressure fighters. DC could grind him down and dominate or he could get caught, but I lean to the former. People will be surprised.
 
I used to pick Cormier by decision, but I don’t like that he’s pushing 250.

Now I think it’s a toss up, but a decision win for either.
 
Either DC get floored and finished early(my honest prediction) or he fights through rough spots and outworks Stipe in later rounds
 
NO CLUE which is why I love it!

Option 1: DC gets Stipe down a few times but can't control him. Stipe keeps getting hard shots on DC. Stipe via R1 or R2 TKO!

Option 2: DC keeps grinding Stipe until Stipe gasses in R4. Stipe gets taken down and can't defend himself anymore. DC via R4 or R5 TKO!

Option 3: Stipe tags DC a bunch in R1 and R2 and even knocks DC down. However, DC survives and keeps up the pressure. Stipe's cardio starts diminishing, but he's still landing good shots in R3. However, DC ups the pressure in R4 and R5 and wins those cleanly. DC via close and maybe controversial decision! (Or maybe a controversial split decision for Stipe!)
 
DC comes forward, pushes the pace and TKO's Stipe in the end of the 2nd or 3rd round.

or

Stipe comes forward, DC rushes in with a take down attempt but fails and Stipe Ko's him hard.
 
This will come down to wether or not DC can easily land the take downs. If he can't land the take downs, this will look like DC vs Jones 1 at best, if DC doesn't get stopped.

Stipe should be easier to take down than Jones. But DC had trouble taking down Gus, so its possible he also struggle taking down Miocic.
 
Close fight, with Cormier pressuring from the get-go and Stipe landing some hard shots in the first 2 rounds, which Cormier survives by clinching and making Stipe work.

Somewhere in the middle rounds Cormier gets Stipe down and starts to wear on him.

Cormier by decision.

I think option 3 but really who knows, i fucking love this fight, best proper fight the ufc can make today.
