How do you grapple with a training partner that's 300 pounds?

I'd say don't roll with him. I got hurt before by rolling with fat asses that size. I'm about 170 pounds. Our instructor had us start from standing. He was stalling so I shot in on him and he crucifixed me from standing. I fucked up my neck and missed a week of training.

Fat ass? I am 292, 6'5'' and my BF is 16%, not the greatest, but I wouldn't say everyone over 250 is a fat ass big mouth. I can't help having superior Viking genetics. :icon_twis

Perhaps you should work on strengthening your neck.

i train with a judo brown and bjj purple at my school...he's about 6'1 300lbs. he's nice enough to pull guard and let me work, otherwise, he could have tapped me by squeezing his guard...or just about anything else he wants.
 
funny this came up, this happened to me last night. In this case this guy was about 330 6ft, i'm 160 5'9. He was really slow, no agility so it was easy for me to move around him, i subbed him twice before his nose started to bleed and then he quit. I secured two armbars from his back. i had to stay on top or have his back all the time. His legs were to big to go after
 
Yeah i tore my intracostular cartilage against a giant fat-ass who never subbed me even though i subbed him like 2-3X and would just lay on me the whole time.
