I'm like a whole different fighter during my amateur fights, my reflexes are better and my punches are much more accurate. The only difference besides the glove weight is that in amateur fights I don't have to hold anything back and can let myself go and throw every punch at full power without having to worry about hurting my opponent while in sparring my punches are always somewhat delayed since I have to dial back the power first and by the time I actually throw it the place i aimed for is already covered up or out of range. Of course I can go harder during sparring but I honestly hate hard sparring sessions since you can't win in sparring and going home with a headache, sore jaw or popped ear drum without a win just feels terrible.
Can adrenaline alone make such a difference? In fights I basically lose control and throw and block most punches out of instincts and reflexes and all the combinations I practiced come out naturally without thinking about that but in sparring I actually do have to think about it
