How different would the sport look if DC never dropped to 205?

I think Cormier would have won the belt in 2014 and would be working on about his 6th title defense. He would have blown away the records and would be known as the MMA GOAT.

Jones would have gone undefeated and possibly moved up.

I have no idea how that fight would have gone at HW.

Very different. I wouldn't doubt he would be the HW champ. LHW would have gotten Jones vs Rumble, which I hate to say that I think Jones would have stopped him. So not sure how LHW would look like. I guess it depends if Jones got caught.

DC would have been the HW king, the man apart from his great skillset has a great chin! Without him being drained by the cut, he would be even more though.

Yes Cain would have given him a war, but DC is simply too good for the HW division. Not sure if he would have beaten Bones though, even in a super fight at HW/ catchweight.

Bones has his number, his skillset simply matches way to good against him.

DC would be № 3-4 HW of the world, not champion likely: I favor peak Cain, Stipe, Overeem, JDS over him with Werdum and Ngannou 50/50 fights. If Jones moved up he would beat him even harder than in LHW.

One of the main reasons he dropped down was because Cain is his teammate. He didn’t want to fight his teammate.
