Social How did you spend xmas / newyears

I had pretty much the same xmas as most years bar missing a few that normally made it. Im born around christmas so never really did birthday stuff. Just xmas which turned into me using it as a excuse to avoid family things.

Despite friends being married some with young kids etc i still had 5 who drove over 200miles roughly to spend a couple days with me for xmas. We just drink shoot smoke fly rcs and race rcs for a few days like we are still young men lol. Got 1 boar few rabbits so quite succesful pest tidy.

Made me realise i am actually quite blessed . Just in a different way than most.

These are friends from sport and school when i was a little kid. 35 - 40 years on we still kicking it together

New years ? Maintained my tradition of going to bed before 12 =)



So. whats your christmas tradition or new years? Or does it change each year ?

I flew out of state to spend Xmas with my family, was good to see them and also went out for dinner and drinks with an old buddy of mine I don’t get to see too often.

Flew back home before NYE, went out for a 5 course dinner with my gf to celebrate, then we chilled at home drinking snobby whiskey.

Yes and I would've went somewhere to but sometimes it's nice to have the day to yourself.

Did Christmas at West Palm with the fam.

Did New Year's on an island in the Bahamas, had a bonfire on the beach with another family. Kids shot fireworks. Went to bed early.

Went to church with family on Christmas Eve and then went out for Chinese food after church so I could finally live out my Christmas Story dream of being Ralphie

At the Chinese restaurant the owner came over and told us that someone had placed a huge order and didnt pick it up so he was offering $300 worth of various Oriental delights for a huge discount

I already had 15 lbs of prime rib and a ham ready to throw on the smoker the next day, plus side dishes galore, so I declined but he dropped the price all the way down to 50 bucks so I told him he had a deal, then he raised the price back up to 70 bucks on me LoL but I still bought it

Sent out a group text that night that we had a mountain of food & beer for tomorrow's Christmas dinner and all were welcome

About 15-20 people ended up coming over so I spent Christmas with 3 generations of family, including my brand new freshly born baby nephew that I met for the first time, sharing lots of love, laughs, food and alcohol well into the night and the next morning

I cancelled all plans... I've had this ridiculous flu the whole way through, as have my wife and son.

Not good. I still have headaches, low energy, and a bad cough. The flu shot did not work this year.

Oof not the best start to the year for ya. Hopefully yas kick it soon . Never had the flu shot myself, never felt the need even when i was in the office in the city. Im pretty rural and away from the cities now so i honestly dont even think i got covid. Havent had a flue or a cold in about a decade.

The benifits of only seeing and interacting with people when i want heh. ( turns out i rarely want to =)

I stayed in and rested I had thursday and friday off along with saturday and sunday. I did not want to be hung over the next day. I had to watch the illegal firework at 12am out my porch because they lasted til 1 am.

Rode dirtbikes with my wife Christmas eve and Christmas day. Then went to the in laws house and my parents house Christmas day/night.

New years eve went to my brother's house. It was a great Holiday season
