I understand the 10-8s, especially assuming the McGregor leg break looked to me like a round ending knockdown.
But to me the elbows from bottom and deep guillotine attempt were enough to keep it a 10-9
Please explain why is it a clear 10-8 round?
He was losing the round but definitely not 10-8. 10-8 is when you offer almost zero resistance. His leg broke and people are counting that as a knockdown?10-8 round is absolute insanity. 10-9 poirer and they both had some good moments.
Yeah, same. I was actually impressed that Conor didn't fold on the ground even before the leg snap. He was eating some heavy shots but didn't quit.10-9 Poirier imo but whatever...

I was leaning 10-9 Poirier, but have no problem with a 10-8. I felt that Conor landed just enough offense to keep it to a 1 point round... but then again, the optics of the last 10 seconds of the round were pretty bad for Conor (at the time I did not know his ankle was injured)... tough call.Simple question. The official Sherdog scorers did not hand in their tallies because the fight was over as soon as we saw McGregor's ankle give way. As the official Sherdog Play-by-Play guy, I would have scored the round 10-8 to Poirier, and I'm not sure how my two editor colleagues scored it in our panel.
Of the three cageside judges, Derek Cleary and Junichiro Kamijo scored R1 10-8 for Poirier, and Sal D'Amato scored R1 10-9 for Poirier.

What say you? Was the first round of Poirier-McGregor 3 a 10-8 round?
