Did he talk a lot of trash? This almost never happens.

It's interesting to see how the new stance and paceing make him out of his element. Doesn't look like an elite kicker anymore

Rountree was supposed to be for Saki what Strickland was to Poatan

It wasn’t that he was so good, it was that I was bad,” Gokhan Saki told BJPENN.COM’s Jason Kindschy.

“Rountree said it himself in his post-fight interview: he didn’t counter me or plan this, he said he just threw a punch in the middle and was hoping I was in the area.

Yeah ,well, too bad that the fight shows something else. He was caught multiple times.

There's the belief that of you come from any other sport you are automatically better than anyone who started in MMA.

They have a lot better coaches these days than before. There's no real difference except time spent.

I'm just saying anytime someone comes from kickboxing or amateur wrestling or boxing or even the NFL ppl act like they are miles above anyone else and will dominate. Having a refined specialty helps but it doesn't automatically make you the best of the best. People are still hyping pico as a world beater bc of his wrestling background.

They offered him money.
Probably not as much as you'd think, kickboxing doesn't pay all that well either.
Edit: reported pay for the rountree fight was $85k to show and I'd assume another to win so not bad but nothing crazy either.

Lol. Saki barely won that against a Guy I never heard of.

Good for him though. Different sport.

Who is that Henrique Da Silva who almost knocked Ghokan out. Is he a journeyman?

Also Saki looked way smaller than in Glory where they don't test for certain supplements. People forget this when judging his ufc run.

The downfall of kickboxing has been sad. It was bigger than MMA when I first started watching. You'd have tons of guys crossing over back and forth between K-1 and MMA. The top K-1 stars were making truckloads more than anyone in MMA. Shits dead now : (

I think the issue with Saki was he badly injured his knee twice training wrestling and then he said he just had a mental block where he got scared to wrestle in case he blew it out again.

He looked small and weak to be honest. Still got pop on his shots but doesn't look like he's in great condition

Hes not supposed to wrestle Khalil.
