How did Michael Bisping end up on a pedestal on these forums?

Because there are people who are:
1. Dumb enough to think he fought clean
2. Think he is some kind of saint for this foolish assumption
 
Below average fighter.

Only reason he stayed in the UFC was because of his nationality.

Got underserved title shot, got fluke KO, then immediately ducks all the top competition.

Glad he got ko’ed his last fight and is gone.

I think he's funny. He has just enough self deprecation to make his trash talking palatable. I kinda like the British humor, too.
 
bisping is awesome.

alot of people warmed up to his brash british persona come the end of his career. but he will always be remembered as a very weak champ who opted for a 47 year old immobile hendo than taking on anyone that was worthy of a title shot. but beating anderson and knocking out luke got him in everyones heart.

but really talent wise as a fighter he was just another forrest griffen or rich franklin. really nothing special. well he is better than forrest for sure, forrest absolutely sucks.

He kinda played the heel when he was younger but I think he grew on people after he got a little older. He was the guy that seemed to lose his breakthrough fights ala Hendo and Wand.
Beating Rockhold was his Rocky moment.
 
Bisping lost to Hamil.... Anyways he didn't become MW GOAT until GSP fans I guess.

I don't really see that being the case. I think people are pretty fair with their opinions on his career. He lingered in the top ten for many years and won enough to keep his place there.
I think people respect the guy for doing it right and not being some super star the whole time but winning enough to keep himself busy. He was always a dick and funny and for sure rubbed people the wrong way sometimes.

Some may even have been happy for him that he got to be the bride for once as unlikely as it seemed through his career. He was not a pussy in my opinion.

I have a feeling the answer you wanted was that GSP fans only say he was good because GSP beat him and if that is so then it could also be said that GSP haters make out like Bisping is shittier to diminish GSP. I hope that is not what was happening and it was a real question.

Bisping was very active and was the current and legitimate mw champion. He was not the best middleweight in the world imo but he was certainly not a bum and did have the strap. I can't say with 100% certainty that he could not have defended successfully against a top mw, we just don't know.

I have yet to see anyone call him mw goat. The closest thing I have seen is him being called a clean fighter so take that as you like.
