How did Last Jedi get such a high rotten tomatoes score?

RUIN Johnson is a hack and ruined something that could've easily cemented his legacy as a director. His ego got in the way and he did the opposite of what the fans wanted and tried to be cute. It failed and legions of fans hate him and Disney knows it.

I can't think of a situation where someone dropped the ball worse than this.
 
TFA was also garbage. They both sucked in their unique ways. But the last jedi though stupid at least made bold choices and took risks
 
Rotten tomatoes ratings are almost as bad as Netflix lol.
 
TFA was derivative and boring. The Last Jedi made mistakes (the Asian chick, Laura Dern, Leaving Rey and Luke on an island the WHOLE movie) but at least it had some cool scenes.

The bottom line is that the new characters are weak compared to the originals. Kylo REN is a whiny bitch. Finn is a blundering idiot. Po is no Luke Skywalker. He is bland. So we base the whole deal on Rey.
 
Money exchanged hands. I was a diehard defender of TFA and all of it's new plot threads. Well TLJ is such an abysmal piece of shit, the very idea someone could enjoy it offends my sensibilities.

Because it had strong female/minority leads, and made all the white guys look like bumbling idiots so the SJWs fell in love.

Nevermind that the strong female leads all made terribly stupid decisions as often as they could, the 'cocky male ego pilot' Po made probably the only correct tough call in the entire movie, and Finn went from being a coward to being a suicidal idiot stuck in a shoehorned love plot after being suckered by an obvious con man.

Add in that the Hux/Ren dynamic is completely awful, they killed the biggest threat in the movies by offing Snoke like a chump, and they turned Rey into some sort of female space jesus and the third movie has almost no way to salvage the mess.

The biggest fuckups that come to mind offhand are Highlander 2 and Terminator 3, and they aren't even close to the asinine bedshitting that Johnson rained upon us.

The battle in Snokes' chamber. The rest is an enormous plie of shit. So....one clip you can rewatch on youtube out of an entire movie. Reminds me of BvS and how their fight is the only watchable scene in a 2+ hour movie.

No it wasnt. It looked like a number out of the musical Chicago.

Some guards, with weapons that can take a light sabers strike, put up decent fights to a mary sue and a trained sith. No reveal of the big wigs intention, no big fight with him, no light sabers clash. The music wasnt even epic. Ill take any prequel light saber battle over this shit. Hell, even the TFAs saber fight was better. I got goosebumps when rey caught the saber.

And before you say the light speed kamikaze scene, that was an example of an idea better in thought vs in action. It completely changes time space travel entirely.
 
As a non Star Wars guy, I really liked the last Jedi. It's the only Star Wars movie I enjoyed enough to watch again.
