This was an interesting point brought up by Beatdown After The Bell. I'd like to see him just be aloof to the press, and quietly handle his business inside the octagon. Its not hard to imagine him being dominant for a couple years until Mr. Jones gets his situation in order.

Staying off of twitter would be a start.

The guy's problem is he cant shut up, he seems to be in love with the sound of his own voice. Doesn't mean he's a bad person, some people are like that, cant help themselves. DC is not hated, but he's also not a very likable personality... something about him puts people off a bit, me included.

Saying shit like "I've been searching my whole life for a man that's my equal..." will do that too.

He's a grinder with a nondescript body and a suffocating fight style. Unless your name's Chael Sonnen, you're going to have an uphill battle getting over with the fans. Certain fighters just have that x factor in terms of skill set, persona, mystique, style and look. DC just doesn't have it. He's well spoken and by all accounts a great guy but he doesn't have Chael or Conor's wittiness and delivery nor does he seem willing to go into full character. Cosmetically, he's not the specimen that Jones or Brock are and as a fighter, he's not knocking guys into orbit like Rumble, Conor or Wonderboy. Larry Holmes was a long reigning champion who probably had a better overall career than Tyson and he even managed to set a PPV record against Cooney, but no one reflects on Holmes the way they do Tyson. It is what it is.

He can't. He's in a heel stable. In WWE you can make an American a cheap face turn by making him stand up to an "evil foreigner" character, but it's harder to do that in UFC.
