How could Aljo win the rematch?

I thought he was doing good body work. It would freeze Yan from time to time but never looked like Yan was hurt.

This fight opened a lot of eyes. I was convinced that Aljo would match the pace and eventually get the back, but instead he was flopping like a fucking fish after gassing himself out in the first two rounds.

Now, assuming that the nerves got the best of Aljo which played a part in the atrocious performance, we can assume that he will be more calm knowing that he has already faced Yan once. That being said, Yan was still superior on the feet and was even besting Aljo in the grappling exchanges.

Clearly a grappling-heavy attack does not favor Aljo, so could he pitter-patter point fight a W over Yan?

< inb4 he gets knee’d again and wins via DQ and whole sherdog explodes
Aljo looked good for about 3 min until he got dropped. If he doubles down on that aggressive early attack, maybe he catches yan with something big for a ko. He got nothing over 5 for him.

He can't , simple.
Paper champ forever. Will never get close to the title again.

I bet the remaining lifetime of your account could be quantified in hours

And you would be wrong.

He can win doing the same thing, just bring the pace down a notch. He only started losing when he slowed down, if he just keeps throwing, but not THAT much, he could keep that up and win on points. I don't know why the fuck Lingo was telling him to keep up the pace, when he was clearly not going to be able to do it, seemed like really dumb advice.

He shot for 17 takedowns in like 17 minutes. He needs to cut that in half if not more and manage his energy for the striking. When fresh, he proved that he can absolutely hang with Yan on the feet and squeek out rounds with his volume approach.

Ultimately, I'd advise that he only shoots twice a round, other than that he should strike more, feint the takedown more and DEFINITELY attack Yan's body more. People are acting like Aljo has no chance, but the first two rounds of that fight were very even. If Aljo doesn't waste gas forcing shit, he will have a chance of winning for sure.

He just needs to slow the grappling pace. Cut the takedown attempts to 1 or 2 around rather than 6. That will help him maintain his energy better, and the first two rounds proved to use that when he has energy he can absolutely have a close striking match with Yan.

Yeah I mean to me Aljo was doing fine on the feet. His reactions and exhaustion really overshadowed the fact that he was the busier fighter on the feet. Its just hard to do that even without the take down attempts.

Honestly what he did vs. Muhnoz would work against Yan, but he was fading in that fight too. It's a tall task.

He can’t be flopping like a fish in the rematch tho

Sterling needs to take the back. He can’t hurt yan standing and his takedowns aren’t as good as he thinks
