Jones simply isn't a beloved figure like Conor is despite being the better fighter. There are racial elements to it but Jones is also a legit bad dude while Conor is just a clown most of the time. Haters are always grasping for straws to criticize fighters.

With the exception to Gus, I don't think Jones has fought anyone with in two inches or closer to his height. McGregor is middle of the pack when it comes to height. Poirier and Holloway are taller and most of the other guys are within an inch or two height difference. Of course, there are some shorter guys like Mendes, but there aren't that many tiny fighters on his record.

McGregor has crushed everyone shorter, his height or taller. The minute Jones faced a guy roughly the same size, he won a controversial decision in which I believe he was gifted.

Jones towers all but Gus. McGregor is middle of the pack and is also moving up in weight class. So far Jones hasn't made an obvious notion to jump up (that I've seen. He could have! Correct me if I'm wrong).
