#2 p4p fighter in the world, arguably #1.

Noone asked him a single question.

It's sad that people don't care. But you can't force people to care.

Im not sure what to even ask him... like seriously what

The only question, IMO, is: IF you beat Cejudo, will you move up?

What are you wanting to ask him, and would you pass up an opportunity to ask one of the other guys a question, to do so?

Fly just needs more characters in it. Uncle Creepy is a good start. MM while I wouldnt consider boring per se is not a very engaging personality and moreover hes completely at a "fuck all yall then" stage due to the disregard and lack of respect given to his division.

poor mighty mouse, he just want to be a nice regular guy and because of that no one fucking cares about him

Because he is a tiny tiny man. MMA cares about size, like the rest of the world does. If you aren't at least above average size to some extent no one will care too greatly unless you have some nationalistic or other reason to. Seems USA doesn't care for midgets and DJ has a boring personality.

"So DJ, what's it like to not be allowed on any roller coasters"?

Either way this reflects the quality of the press and not MM.

I really don't want to hate on him, I respect any fighter and especially a champ. You can't call someone p4p one of the best when they're fighting in a division that has been around for 2 minutes. The top ten guys he is beating in his weight class aren't close to the top ten guys in most other weight classes. It's like when Faber was fw champ, when these weight classes are new they simply don't have the depth and talent to say that their champ is on level with a prime GSP, Anderson, or Fedor. Same thing with the Miguel Torres era or renan barao, I was never convinced they were these p4p greats people tried selling them as because I looked at who they were fighting and it wasn't the onslaught of talent the guys I mentioned above fought.

If they had just asked him one question, everything would be different. Damn you Kevin Iole for not asking DJ if he will beat Cejudo.

Realistically it's a combo of many things;

- his fight style; sure he gets finishes, but it's not something he pursues, he's not aggressive and doesn't hit hard.
- his persona; he's dull, I like that he's started on twitch but still he's not fun to listen to on that, in interviews or to read about online, he's just a basic bitch who is good at his job.
- his weight; as lame as it is people think they could beat MM in a fight because they weigh at least 10+ kgs than him when out of shape and fully hydrated.
- his division; he's cleared it out, there's no competition and the lack of a real contender makes no MM fight worth watching.

One or two of these things in a champion is fine but all four they form a bundle of apathy and whilst many acknowledge his skills as legitimate, nobody really wants to watch him fight.

Not a single question? Poor guy. He's such a great fighter, and very few people care.

The only way a small champion will be noticed is by challengeing and beating larger fighters. Not by beating the same three challenger's every few months
