Why did they go ahead with Wonderboy/Hendricks and not rebook?

Was there ever a good explanation for this?

They just decided to promise Woodley the shot instead since he made weight like a professional.

Woodley likely didn't want to take it,after what Dana said(probably not that seriously) after Hendricks missed weight.
Woodley rather sit on his *** though and play it safe.

Because Hendricks was rescheduled for a lower ranked opponent.
It's the Khabib Scenario.
Some guy can't make the fight happen, you don't reschedule the exact same fight, you give it some other bloke.

I don't know. You know what I mean? Hendricks replaced Magny vs Thompson you know what I mean? Maybe the UFC doesn't want Hendricks in the mix of title contenders you know what I mean?

Was waiting for this, thank you

Because moaning and bitching on twitter and fox for a year to get a titleshot fills up all your time.

But you don't pretend the guy who made weight actually won the fight. Woodley was treated as though he won a fight that didn't happen. Absolutely he should have been paid and taken care of, but to hand him a title fight because the other guy had to pull out? It makes no sense.

On the one hand, I guess you sort of have to commend UFC for sticking to its word (over a year later) but of all the promises to make, this one was just ludicrous.

Did Woodley turn it down? I was surprised this fight wasnt rebooked. I never heard why

You should, actually.
If the other guy pulls out of an (unofficial) title eliminator fight, and it's too late for replacement, just give him the title shot.
Who else?
Rory already lost, and Stephen is fighting him for the shot.

Thats my question. Why was he rescheduled for a lower ranked fighter? The Woodley fight was a good one, good backstory etc old competitors. I was looking forward to it

Because he wasted time?
He pulled out of a fight, why should he get rewarded by fighting a higher ranked fighter/

Haaaaa. You beat me to it. You know what I mean?

Oh I get it now. You think thats the way the UFC looked at this? That Tyron showed up ready to fight and Hendricks didnt and that counts as the fight? I guess I could see how this is what prevailed.

Well Khabib was supposed to fight Ferguson in December, he got injured and they rescheduled it for April.

The only reason they didn't rebooked the Woodley-Hendricks fight is because DW promised the title shot to Woodley and he didn't want to waste his chance so he sat down for months until he got this undeserved fight for the belt.

Exactly this. It was the second opponent in a row way off weight so they just treated Woodley like he beat Hendricks.

Woodley was granted a title shot for showing up and making weight for the fight with Hendricks scheduled in October. Hendricks was labeled unprofessional . That fight was suppossed to be a title eliminator but Hendricks eliminated himself

I got it now. I really wanted to see that fight. Hopefully it will get booked in the future. If Woodley loses to Robbie, this is the best fight to make for both of them.

Of all the promised title shots Dana has flushed the fact he kept his promise to Woodley of all people really grinds my gears.
