Sherdog extremism don't supply us a real take on the world's opinion on the fighting game.
How do you saw the casual MMA fans taking Conor's defeat last sat?

Over here the consensus was that Conor was doing good but was just trying to take a much bigger guy, he looked good at the end of it despite the loss.
Not my opinion just what I saw most people saying.

I don't care. I refuse to talk about MMA with people who either don't train or at least closely follow the sport. It's infuriating to hear their opinions.

Wish I knew people who talk about MMA. I'm in a desert over here..

The Sherdog bandwagon is the same as the casual fan bandwagon. Jumping off at the slightest bump in the road.

Then you'll struggle to talk about more than 2/3 topics in your life.

Yeah they all fell for his excuses of "fighting the bigger man" and "jumping up weight classes"

Why are you on sherdog then? Because that is what sherdog is made up of.

I don't follow. I talk about things that aren't MMA with non-experts. MMA just brings out the worst in people because they have no knowledge base so they have to invent one based on movie fighting or etc.

Ya I know I almost always avoid the heavies for that reason, but I'm taking care of a baby and can't do much else right now.

My point is if you don't talk to people about MMA because they don't follow it closely, you'll struggle to talk to most people about anything because we only follow a few things closely.

Pretty sure everyone saw it realistically.

I know, but like I said I'm happy to talk about most topics, but MMA is so far out of the average person's knowledge base you can't have a conversation. It's basically the reason Gracie obliterated the first UFC, no one knew what was going on. You have to provide them way too much information to even begin having a conversation, otherwise they're like "I bet that hurts when he punched him, is this WWE?"

Not sure why you post on Sherdog then lol

All of my friends were heartbroken, but no excuses or mental gymnastics or bandwagon abandonment, surprisingly. Just a whole lot of, "Well, can't wait for his next fight."

Can anyone answer the thread objectively?

Agree 100% #endthread

lol but that wouldn't be a casual, it would be someone clueless on the subject being forced to talk about it
