How can you get injured doing media in a TV studio?

I get it. Freak accidents happen. People (especially elderly women) can fall down and injure themselves in seemingly harmless and safe scenarios. You can even get killed walking your doggy.

But what could have possibly happened to Tony on a studio set to make him 'tear a ligament in his knee'???

Here are some scenarios:

1. It's bullshit and there is another reason why he's pulling out
2. He tripped over the diminutive Megan Olivi.
3. He tripped over Eddie Bravo's bong.
4. He was wearing shades indoors and didn't see any members of the UFC on Fox panel, and tripped over one of them.

What do you all think?

Edit:
5. Tripped on ariel helwanis nose
6. Kicking steel pipes.
7. The whole thing is an April fool's joke
8. The Russians hacked Tony's leg

Alot of these "freak" accidents aren't really freak accidents.

What happens is usually the ligament or tendon is already injured just not enough for a complete tear. That sudden movement or displacement (even if its light) causes an already banged up ligament/tendon to finally snap and then you finally get the complete pain/injury.

Reminds me of when some notre dame linebacker was jumping up and down after getting a pick six and then his knee snapped as he was coming down. Everyone was like "what a dumbass, his jumping caused his knee to snap" when in reality his knee was already a grade 2 sprain from a collision on the previous play

lol

I like how he blames the ufc "UFC pre fight media"

Please God don’t let shuab weigh in on this.

Anyone know what interviews he did on Friday? Lol if it's fighter and the kid or some bullshit like that.

I blame the insane training methods. If anybody thinks kicking steel wrapped pipe with your flesh and bone leg. Is a brilliant idea. I’d say you belong in the booby hatch.

I said how stupid the shit he was doing was. It didn’t even take extraordinary insight or intelligence. Common fucking sense dictates you don’t use your arms and legs as weapons on things much stronger like STEEL, or WOOD.

After punching the top wooden part of his speed bag set up. He rightfully took heat. So then he got cocky. He tweets video him doing the speed bag blindfolded.

Hey Tony:

No you’re definitely NOT doing it right.

Real answer: he overtrains and does these weird training methods that make him more susceptible to injury. His knee must have already been on the brink of tearing and he didn't know, in a way hes lucky it happened now or he wouldve torn it in round 1 of the fight and lost like that.

It's obviously bullshit. The amount of force required to tear a ligament can be seen when basketball players (6'+ 200 lb+) are sprinting to the hoop and try to stop on a dime, or a NFL player is going full speed and gets a cleat caught. This can't happen due to walking, it is literally impossible.

Youve obviously never heard of shin conditioning or knuckle conditioning lol ..or the practice of mircofracturing bone for fusion purposes.. You sound like some one who hasnt trained or observed training methods from 3rd world countries or older times..its cool though... Kicking a pipe has nothing to do with ligaments

He went outside to kick a tire and injured himself
