Idk, dude got maybe 100k (59k + 50k fight of the night + 1.5k Reebok) for that war with Lawler. Hopefully he comes back soon because he will need the money.
I'd like to believe that, and I know UFC pays hospital bills and stuff. That fight had a lot of viewers, and for them to see a war like that had to have been good for the UFC.I know you can't rely on backroom bonuses, but they have been handed out, and I think that in this case there might have been something extra for Rory and Robbie.
All just speculation of course.
I have a feeling that he got a big bonus after that fight, he seemed really happy right after at the hospital, and a few days later on twitter.
My guess is that the nose was shattered and he needed a lot of time, and he had a big payday so he could enjoy that time. If he was lower on the pay scale, I think he'd already have a fight booked.
But who knows? I think he might come back stronger but no way to know before we see it.
Rory has a glaring weakness that he really needs to fix. he simply can't handle guys that pressure him.
As a mature fighter, he's only really been solved by Robbie, so I'd say he has a Robbie problem he needs to fix
Something in me hopes that the beating he took will counteract a little of the strategical thinking he gets from tristar and awaken the beast within. Like after GSP faced Matt Hughes the first time, something clicked in his brain and he wasn't intimidated the second time. Maybe Robbie beat the fear out of him?
yea Rory was killing him, until he gave upYou do understand that Rory was winning until the last round correct?

You state that almost as if he was dominating. It was a close fight and he wasn't up by much. He caught Lawler and wobbled him but couldn't put him away and jumped ahead on the score cards because of that. Lawler caught Rory and finished him, that was the difference in the fight. You do understand that Rory was winning until the last round correct?
