Honest, But Silly Question: How Would Buff Conor Do @185?

This is stupid. He should have stayed skinny, focused on salads, and stayed at 145. FW is his division. But whatever he made his money so I’m sure he doesn’t give a shit.

Not always or even close to that. Just really tired of ridiculous threads. I mean the absolute bottom of the barrel from the LCD. I feel like a college student trying to understand the daily machinations of the average 5 year old. I’m older than most of you and don’t have the patience for this bullshit.

The good news for me is any one of you with intelligence will actually adopt a similar attitude too.. Someday. If the clowns that come a generation or two behind you are as the generations behind myself. You’ll wonder where the fuck it all went wrong.

He's tired of ridiculous threads, but he can't stop clicking and commenting. The absurdity never gets old.

Let's have him fight Costa and find out

Hm, intesresting question. If opponent is banned from:
-Attacking Conor's legs
-Shoving Conor
-Putting his weight on Conor

then theoretically Conor can use his tools to win. His major weakness = his legs, any heavier opponent can cause him to reinjure, same way as Ngannou made Cain Velasquez reinjure his leg just by sheer amount of weight both guys had put on it. So let Conor wear kneepads and ban all the moves that can cause leg injuties and Conor might just stand a chance against somebody with questionable chin. Otherwise he probably loses in the first round, especially, if he puts on more weight.

Let's assume he somehow skips the few wrestlers/grapplers.

Let's also assume Conor is also fully or decently functional at this new weight.

How does he do against the top ranked and/ higher profile strikers? Ex. Kevin Holland, Uriah Hall, Gastelum, Cannonier etc. etc.

I know it's a bit silly but just for fun?
I figure there are too many big wrestlers at 170, and supposedly he may not fight at 155 again

*edit* LOL at all the overly literal and serious responses in this thread. I'm purposely ignoring things like cardio. It's just supposed to be a fun stylistic comparison.

Motherfuckers in here talking bout they are tired of stupid topics and/or Conor threads, yet they're always the same quickest jackasses to respond. If you're so tired of sherdog, log the fuck off and get a life. No one made you click the "Conor thread" Otherwise while you're here, take the stick out of you arses.
Count me in as someone who does not have that much "free memory" to forget how he would be manhandled by the bigger guys.
If he was Israel's size, it could be fun, but he is not... let us not forget how his "KO ratio" decreased the higher WC he moved to.
His only wins at the top are over-the-hill names like Cerrone.

I don’t see McGregor having much success at 170, let alone 185.

He might have some success in the earlier rounds against some of the top 15 guys, but I don’t think he’s competitive against the best fighters in that division.

Well, his knockout power didn't carry over fully from 145, so assume he'd be really bad.

i don't think he cracks top 15. Imagine conor vs izzy or rob. Damn, it'll be a blowout .

He is taller with a longer reach than Deron Winn. I could see him winning

You'd be surprised imo. I think he would win the title. Let me explain.

He'd have to be strategic, but all he has to do is roll over some slouch with a good name like Gastelum, similar to how he ran over Cowboy.

Next, he calls for a title shot. I see Izzy hurting a leg trying to kick a hardbody like Cannonier and losing due to injury.

Then Conor has his way with Jared in a striking match. He'd pick him apart.

Crazy how the world works but it's true.

Poe's Law in full effect here. I don't even know where to start.

I know Gastelum hasn't looked great recently, but he is at the very least a bloated Welterweight who chooses to fight at Middleweight. He also wrestles extensively in his fights, keeps a solid pace across even five-round fights, has great boxing inside the pocket, and has shown the ability to knock out much bigger fighters than Conor. I'd pick Gastelum with zero reservations.

Even entertaining the idea that Jared beats Izzy via injury TKO, you now legitimately have a man who began his career at Heavyweight knocking and submitting other Heavyweights fighting a dude who was arguably at his peak draining down to 145 and has only experienced limited success in translating his power up to the higher weight classes ever since. Not only that, but Cannonier is known for having legitimate one-shot knockout power (against much larger men) in his right hand along with some of the heaviest low kicks at 185 -- the very thing Conor has proven vulnerable to. Not to mention his 3.5" reach advantage over McGregor. His cardio is also absurdly good for a man who's as jacked as he is at Middleweight. He doesn't offensively grapple all that much, but he can totally manhandle much bigger guys than Conor in the clinch who have legitimate wrestling pedigrees. Killa Gorilla would hurt him bad.

Well lads, I actually walk around at about 190, so we should be good.

I'm an old man, so he definitely won't KO me.

I think I have a pretty good shot.

In answer to the question "how would Buff vs Conor do @ 185" in terms of PPV - pretty well imo - I have the "Rocky" factor, he could trash talk, I could shoop some memes... We both have issues with dem fun things... Anything could happen.

Book it Dana.

The guy's just asking a question, no need to jump on his throat. I mean that's still a fucking MMA forum
