Gyms are closing due to carona virus . Sherbros don’t want to lose squat gains. Are there suggestions for those of us who might want to invest in a rack, bar and plates for our homes?

I wish that was even an option for me, but I simply don't have the space. I'll have to make do with kettlebells and, possibly, a power tower.

Depends on budget, space and how you want to keep the rack in place. If you're on a budget then either get a Titan rack or find something that fits your need on the used marketplace. If you don't mind spending, then it comes down to preference and how large that budget is. You can go Rep, Rogue or even higher end racks like Legend or EliteFTS or you can get a ER combo rack.

Bars and plate again will depend on budget and needs. We have no idea what you do in terms of working out.

You have space for a "power tower", but can't find space for a squat rack? This is made by rogue and is literally only 2
4' x 4' base with 6' tall. You can squat on it and bench of it.

You mean 4' x 4'

I don't care much about losing leg strength. Running, short sprints will always work for me in these difficult times. I am worried I am going to lose upper body strength and mass. I don't believe in push ups and chin ups only.

Walmart actually has some fantastic stuff cheap
Is it as good as rogue? Probably not. But if it’s just you using it and you aren’t chasing world records I bet it fits your needs. They even have a deadlift bar for like 200. So cage with pull up station, 300 pounds of plates and a bar, and a deadlift bar for under 700. Then just add some 45s.

Hit up Facebook Marketplace. I've found some really nice benches and squat racks people are trying to unload for cheap.

I like the OfferUp app. It feels like it’s designed for price negotiating.

I was lucky and bought most of my stuff up to build my home gym when a local crossfit gym was closing down. Got plates, bars, bench, mats, rowing machine and all super cheap. Saw the sale on Craigslist.

The rack though I got off of amazon. It’s ok.

I have the SML 2. Same footprint. I know you’re not saying you only need 4’ x 4’. But just for anyone who is curious, with the bar and bench, I probably wouldn’t try to squeeze into a smaller space than 8’ x 8’.

Oh yeah corona should be closing down at least a few overpriced assfit gyms
I’d better wait a month

Especially if it will be used temporarily, just build one.

How much time do you think would go into building something like that? Let's assume he has the tools and experience, just needs to get the lumber and hardware.

I forgot my wife has five gallon water jugs in the house. These will come in handy.

If he knows what he's doing?
I can't see it taking longer than one afternoon.

What were you thinking?

Was going to say a full day, including pick up and clean up, assuming they were experienced.
