That's his own words from the Riddick Bowe-Holyfield documentary. Evander talks about why he wasn't a crowd pleaser like Iron Mike.

Anybody know why a dude who had solid technique of both wings and a bigger frame/arms than Iron Mike, still can't punch as hard by his own admission? Is there any obvious technical reason why?

Probably he didn't training hard punching on bag in trainings because he didn't have that style of boxing and didn't want to get injuries. He was great but people say he was on steroids

Holyfield puts his body behind the right hand like any sensible puncher would.

I'm a big Tyson fan but I don't think Tyson is anywhere near even guys like smokin Joe Frazier when it comes to power.

Tyson have explosion punches that you don't see coming and those you don't see are dangerous

Yes but that's a separate topic. This was about sheer power. If Holyfield says he doesn’t punch as hard as Tyson, I will have to take his word for it, even though it doesn't make sense.

Tyson hit that bag on training pretty hard can't see Holyfield with his style can do

It would be like trying to explain why you have such uniquely awesome power, TS. Punching power is just a mystical thing.

One of them is a natural heavyweight puncher and one of them isn't a natural heavyweight and perhaps isn't even a natural puncher. Holyfield is more of a technique and commitment puncher than a brute-strength puncher. But he's awesomely skilled and awesomely committed.

You don't think he's ANYWHERE NEAR Joe Frazier's power? Wow. I don't see how he wouldn't be, honestly. I'm more impressed with Tyson's punching power than Frazier's, overall. He was known for his power, even as a child.

Holyfield is 6 ft 21⁄2. Tyson is 5 ft 10

RING used to do a "The Best I Faced" kind of interview with former fighters.

During an interview with either Bowe or Foreman, the interviewee stated that Holyfield certainly was strong in his upper body. However, he could be "wrestled" with because his upper body was so much stronger and defined than his legs.

Power doesn't just come from the torso, but from the legs as well.

Plus, if you can keep wrestling your opponent off base and get him to constantly shift off balance, he won't be able to plant for his power shots.

Aaron Pryor Junior is 6'4. Perhaps he is naturally larger and should hit harder than Holyfield and Tyson both. Maybe a giraffe is more dangerous than an elephant?

Regardless, it's ludicrious to claim that Holyfield is not a natural HW while tyson is

Look at the flurry of shots he fired against Foreman. He doesn't look to be lacking any power

No more than it is to say that Frazier was a perfectly natural heavyweight and Bob Foster was not. I'm going to assume you're trolling now and leave you to it, since I find trolling to be boring and pointless, most of the time.

If Tyson was a natural HW, why were 99,9% of his opponents having significant reach and height advantage on him?

He had PEDs sent to his Atlanta home under the name Evan Holliday.

Why is this news? Other boxers and sparring partners have said that he didn't hard but he bobble headed you with combinations.
