I recall my wife and daughter went through a phase where they watched these movies together. As I watched some of them I thought they seemed like something a phile would make. Viewed as a child, they are pretty entertaining, I suppose. Watch them as an adult and realize it was adults making those films.... its pretty weird.

I dont think these people were s. Just goes to show you how times have changed. The Shirley movies do seem awkward to watch though.

Weird side note, there's a SoCal band named Ozma whose singer/bassist/writer really wanted me to be their drummer when they were reforming back in '05/'06 era.

Agreed on that cover. I once asked King Buzzo about their supposed Black Sabbath influence. He said he always felt the band was more Kiss. As a huge Kiss fan, I respected that.

I've seen Ozma with the Melvins probably three times now. Great band. I have an old buddy from highschool who had a dad who knew Cobain's people, Buzzo's people. He has so much Melvins, Mudhoney, Nirvana memorabilia, rough demos, etc.

I still remember seeing the Melvins open for Mudhoney at the Capitol Theater in Oly on Mudhoney's 20th anniversary show. I remember the mosh pit was seriously littered with beer, a stick of butter, and full metal jacket casings. Somebody threw a used syringe at the Melvins. Great time.

And my teachers made me turn it inside out the next day, haha.
