Holly Only Landed 19% of Her Strikes

Significant strikes landed:
  • Cyborg: 118
  • Holm: 44
Sig. strike percent landed
  • Cyborg: 52%
  • Holm: 19%
Sig. strikes landed by body area:
  • Cyborg: 59% head, 40% body/leg
  • Holm: 44: 75% head, 24% body/leg
and only 44 strikes total for the entire fight. How does somebody who is a former boxing champ land that few strikes and have that horrible landing % in a 5 round fight?
 
The ish ish ish needs to go, even when she didn't even throw the punches, she made the noise and was countered by Cyborg. Respect for her to go the decision but all the hype about her striking level needs to stop. Her only true highlight is the Ronda's headkick, all of her other fights in the UFC were not that great.
 
What amazed me was that Cyborg was the one with the better technique and precision.

She really knew what she was doing. She showed a greater fight IQ and proved that she's not just a strong bully, but a strong bully with great technique and cardio.

Holly need to stop making those noises when when strikes. She's basically warning Cyborg before each flurry.

I loved how she silenced her a couple of times :D

This fight proved Sherdog's hive mind knows shit. I remember reading countless times that Cyborg was only a "bumrusher", a "windmill" who overpowers smaller girls etc., and that Holly, the savvy counterstriker, would counter Cyborg all night with her superior "movement" and "footwork".
 
Why are people surprised? She never brought fireworks with her to the octagon. The headkick she beat Bethe with was there all night but she waited to the 3rd. The Honda fight was exciting because Honda rushed her non stop with zero defense.

She's obviously a good fighter but something is missing.

True, but again we have to thank the fake hype by the UFC, the media, the fans etc for making Holly a monster she is not.
 
Holm is physically possibly the most dangerous female fighter. Her cardio is insane, she moves well and looking at last night she might be stronger than Cyborg. Hell there are videos of her doing /ring( muscle ups for reps. That's insane even as a man that's relaly impressive.

She also looked arguably more muscular than Cyborg.

But her fucking technique. She was a boxing champ but possibly has the weirdets most awkward punching I have ever seen from a so called elite boxer. Also looking at the vidoe above it was less awkward duribng her boxing day sbut in MMa she stands super wide and gets even less leverage on her punches.

She also strikes from a mile away and misses all the time. I don't think I gave her a single round. Rogan was jerking off about how impressive some things were and yes manhandling Cyborg in the clinch is impressive and she did hit her a few times but she landed only like 1 of 100 strikes she threw and Cyborg was countering her all the time
 
All of the time she throws strikes at thin air for the sake of it. Almost like a defensive instinct
 
Only landed 19% and still quadrupled Khalibs strikes.

Yeah, turned out quite the opposite.

Holly doesn't adapt mid striking.

She just picks a combo from her library and starts throwing it.

Cyborg showed mad technique and IQ.

And why did Holly get so good at holding people on the fence. What was the point of that ?
 
She seemed to throw the same combo over and over finished with that high kick, as soon as Cyborg was just out of punching range she knew it was coming and had her guard up, she's tough but I was expecting a little bit more from Holm, her strength in the clinch really impressed me mind.

The muscle up on rings is about technique. It's not hard, if you can do pull ups and dips you can be taught the muscle up.

What's really impressive is Holly not pissing hot.
 
holy is a point fighter ... She could have won that fight but just doesn't have the instinct needed

Cyborg used to be just that. She's really improved from sparring pro boxers and working with Jason Parillo.
