Holly Holm's trainer predicts second-round knockout of Miesha Tate

I think this goes to decision, Miesha is tough as shit, and pretty smart once she gets her groove going.

The only way Tate wins is if Holms chin is non-existent, Tate is the dumbest fighter in the division and just a poor athlete.

I have to agree with this. I would say Meisha is as tough as they come. She may not be the most talented fighter but she has a ton of heart, probably more than any female fighter and more than virtually all of the men. I would never count her out of any fight. If Holly is able to keep it standing and control the distance I think she will batter Meisha's face. If Meisha can implement the dirty boxing and grind Holly down she has as good a chance as any. Unlike RRR, Meisha is not going to underestimate Holly.

I wish Meisha would change camps and give herself a better shot at the belt.

Hoping for a good fight and good performances from both. 2 classy fighters in my opinion. A shame one has to loose.

I don't think Holly will be able to stop her as quickly as Ronda.

Miesha is a hell of a lot tougher, and I doubt she will go full retard trying to stand toe-to-toe with a boxing champ.

I would agree that she needs better preparation and a different camp but to call her a dumb fighter and a poor athlete is foolish.

she has such a low fight IQ & she isn't even half the athlete that Ronda or Holly is.
 
There is just something about Meisha Tate that is very compelling. She is intelligent, personable, good looking, seemingly happy and a fighter, like one poster said, is as tough as they come. She has heart and if you don't count R3, she is the number one contender. With all her faults, she uses what she has to her advantage.

I give Holly the edge, but would never count Meisha out until the ref raises Holly's hand.

Nothing indicates that she's a hell of a lot tougher. Nothing in the Ronda-Holly fight (or in any other fight that Ronda has had) indicates that she isn't tough. You're, literally, pulling this out of your ass.

A better argument could be made that Miesha would go full retard - as her "retarded" gameplan against Ronda in the second fight is oftentimes used as an excuse for her getting manhandled.

I'm not saying Miesha isn't tough. She is!

Just saying that nothing indicates that Ronda isn't as tough or -as you stated- "Miesha is a hell of a lot tougher than Ronda."
 
As long as Caraway is cornering her, she'll get a shin bone across the dome. I see Miesha going for takedowns like Esparza did against Joanna, and when that fails, well you know the rest.
 
honestly that would be impressive say what you want about Tate she is the toughest female in the division

Sparza got scared after getting hit with a very hard elbow, stopped striking altogether after that.
That won't happen to Miesha, and her newfound love of feints and level changes will keep things interesting on the feet.
Also, Caraway is a pretty competent cornerman and coach, and despite all the hate a very good fighter himself.
 
Nah don't see it happen.
Round 4 is the earliest I can see it happen.
Meisha is a tough cookie, I mean cupcake.
 
Winklejohn is a straight shooter who reveals stuff a more diplomatic coach probably wouldn't.

He's also the one who revealed in interviews that Holly was purposely stretching out her early fights to get more cage time and not using all her tools.

The guy is incapable of nuance and has a pretty good record of training champions.

Yes, feints against a 10+ year World Champion Boxer, whom is still ranked #2 after retiring for 4 years, is going to work wonders.

I really don't see this "tough" Miesha, sure she grinds it out against other girls, and her only claim to fame is lasting longer than other girls against Ronda, but those were other associated soccer moms she was up against. Now she is up against an athlete.
