Holly is a popular fighter. She has more fans than 95% of the roster. Her headlining doesn’t make the product shitty

Not much of a counter argument, the unanimous response is that no one wants to see that crap headline a card, but I guess you’re the hipster elite who needs to somehow justify it and tell the rest of us to “be better”.

The better question is why does it trigger you so much that the vast majority of mma fans would like to see WMMA go away, or at least not get mixed with the male events.

My argument is that Holly is popular fighter with a substantial fan base and on that basis deserves to headline. All the metrics available are evidence of this. Do you have data other “sherbros said so” that suggests otherwise.


The better question is why does it trigger you so much that the vast majority of mma fans would like to see WMMA go away, or at least not get mixed with the male events.

I don’t believe it’s the majority of fans. I believe it’s a smaller group of people on the internet with their issues with women in their own echo chamber who attack anyone says anything contrary to their world views.

She is an uninspiring contender in an uninspiring division. Plus I haven't forgiven her for the dreadful fights she's put on over the years, which is admittedly my personal taste.

What would you rate this card our of 10? 5 being a bog standard fight night.

It’s the false consensus effect. Everyone assumes that their own opinions/beliefs are shared by the majority even when data suggests otherwise
