Holly Holm has Clay Guida-esque hitting at the air

What in the world was going on last night? I didn't exactly keep count, but Holm threw about 5 strikes that missed for every 1 that landed. I haven't seen that amount of whiffing at the air since Clay Guida. The problem is that Guida is a wrestler and Holm is supposed to be some kind of world class striker.

Either she has the worst perception of distance in pretty much the entire sport or else she just hates the earth's atmosphere.

I thought Cyborg was deceptively hard to hit, people thought she was just a brawler but she used a lot of great head movement and distance. She'd get her head off the center line and fire her haymakers. When Holly is against someone who understands movement and range like Cyborg and Valentina, she struggles. When she fights someone like Ronda Rousey, she couldn't miss if she tried.

It's partly her blitzing style too, often times the first 2 punches are throwaways to distract for the 3rd and a kick.

Strength and power aside, I was impressed with cyborg, I thought she mostly just overpowerd opponents. But she was simply the far better striker last night. Apart from a few good straight lefts early Holly's striking was poor, repetitive and the head kicks could be seen a mile off.

Apparently some judges give more points for pushing someone against the cage for about 30 seconds in a round than for slugging someone in the face repeatedly.

That's what happens when you sluggishly pursue and eat shots to throw shots because you're a dude fighting a chick and can get away with it.

Not only was she punching the air and laughably misjudging the distance but she was also throwing arm punches. Her technique is horrible.
