Holloway needs to fire his management

Volk's style perfectly counteracts Max's and gives him big problems. Volk outvolume's the volume guy.

It's extremely unlikely Holloway could leverage an immediate title shot against Oliveira. He'd probably need to win at least a couple fights at 155 against top 10/top 5 opponents which he could easily lose (he's 0-2 against Poirier, for one). Even if he wins, who's to say Charles would still be champion at that point? 155 is the most volatile division in the UFC

He arguably won the first fight and he definitely won the second fight. The judging in the rematch was shit. So I don’t think his management is that dumb, taking a high paying fight he very likely can win

The first fight ... How?
Second fight I can see the argument, though I think Volk edged it because Max coasted in the 3rd and never got the momentum back.

Holloway management have got to be the worst in the business.

You set your fighter up to fight a guy he is 0-2 against. If he goes 0-3 (highly likely) his legacy and reputation are damaged forever.

Meanwhile the fighter Holloway destroyed in under a round is the champagne of 155. Holloway is getting too big for 45 so it's the right time to move up and get the easiest fight he could get for a world title. But the management team is dumb and passed on the perfect opportunity in favor volk who is short but he can fight and does have 2 wins against max and will add a 3rd one.

And you can even recall an old saying like if a burger with cheese aint much heavier than a burger without it. Management doesn't know hoe to weigh options. That's the sign of bad management and needs to be replaced.

But I doubt max will do it. He's from Hawaii and they have the reputation for being laid back chill people. So he will do the fight with volk and not complain. But in the end it won't be his fault if he loses. He probably didn't even want to take this fight. Because remember he was hesitant to do the second fight. Dana basically made him do it because Dana hates folk and loves max. So point is that max probably has no idea how badly he's being mismanaged.
You'll be upset when this is the best of 5.

I really like Max, but he got dominated in the first fight. Volk completely out worked him

I disagree with you.

He wants to be the champion. the two fights were close enough he feels he could have won them.
Why the fuck would he leave without trying a third time?

I think it is utter bullshit this "legacy and reputation are damaged forever".
That's never gonna happen.
Think: He would have beaten everyone but ONE GUY. And not any guy, but the current champ
And that guy also beat the FW GOAT in Brazil as well. So again, not just "some guy".

So one more try sounds legit IMHO and if he wins, he can move up vindicated.
And if he doesn't (win), then he lost that one fighter, who is also a great fighter that has just the right tools (and style) to beat him.
This does not diminish ANYTHING from Max's amazing career at FW. Actually so far, if he moves up right now, that would be what people think about him anyway, so this fight has absolutely no downside to him. Lose and nothing changes, win and he proves he could beat Volk.

Nothing to lose, everything to gain... I say his management did it perfectly!

Yes.. I think so. Charles has 12 wins since that fight lol. He's leaps and bounds better now than then.
No doubt. If they fight again, Max has a chance in the later rounds, but overall I’ll have to go with Charles.

His management did the right thing, getting him the biggest profile and biggest money fight.

Max wants to be Champ why would he not try again?

Its the opinion of this forum that Max should hide in the shawdows until someone more stylistically easier for him to fight, takes out Volk. Theyd absolutley crucify anyone else who intended to do such a thing too most prob.

I think Max should go up to 155 as well but not for your ridiculous reasoning.

Given his walk around , I think itd be just healthy to make a natural move. Hes elite and hed be elite at 155( given the proper navigation to weight ).

Hes had 2 great fights against Volk and with the outcome of last - the 3rd was only a matter of time .A rare situation.

The fight your referencing is the reason why this place is laughable. That fight some time ago is 1000% irrelevant. Two totally different entities.

Obviously if you're Holloway, he thinks he could beat Volk . This isnt just fighter mentality..... again, look at last fight so I dont know where " management " fits into this.

He can't just cut everyone at LW especially based off the DP fight. Plus he arguably beat Volk already

What a retarded thread. "How is his management going to let him fight for the title?!?"

Dudes a fucking legend, losing this fight wouldn't change shit.

It's a good fight. If he wins, they run it back for a 4th. If he loses, he moves up and tries to contend or has fun fights to end his career.
