Holland had more fights this year than Cain had in 4 years.

I think the comparison should have been to Dom. Trailblazer has had the same amount of fights this year that Cruz has had over the last 6 years.

He did but why the UFC or Ali never proceeded who knows....apparently Edwards was better on both sides.

Also he was rebooked for Edwards in Jan, no reason to step down from a potential Title Eliminator at this point unless there is more involved.

Holland decisioned Meer...Kham made 17 seconds work of him.

While I think sometimes the Hype is a bit much so is the Hate...
I don't hate Khamzat at all. I just think it is ridiculous he is even in the conversation with Leon or a title shot. The guy should have been over the moon that Magny would fight him but the UFC instead takes an opportunity to push him into a fight with Leon.

I truly enjoyed Conor's rise in the UFC. I even got to see his fight with Holloway in Boston as well as the Mendes fight in Vegas. He did have a path cleared for him but he did perform. He beat the #8 ranked FW (at the time they fought) in Poirier and was then showcased in Boston against an unranked Siver to get a title shot. But at least he has MMA titles in a relevant smaller Org and a top 10 win before he was scheduled for a title fight.

The UFC push makes me frustrated because I like to see fighters climb the ladder and jockey for position to earn a title and not simply be parachuted in to the top of the rankings. A fighter who simply matches well with another fighter isn't necessarily worthy of a title fight if that other fighter is champion. Dennis Hallman had 2 quick submission wins over Matt Hughes. But he never had a series of wins worthy of a title shot. I would never have wanted to see him vs Matt Hughes after Hughes was UFC champion without a relevant win streak. Otherwise it makes the divisional fights irrelevant.

Imagine if Team X and Team Y have the best records and are ready to play for the NHL, NBA or NFL titles but the league books NY vs LA because they have the most fans. Forget that they have bad records and teams just put them in the title game. Makes the whole sport irrelevant so why watch.

I wasn't accusing you of hate, it was a general hate/hype type comment for the plethora of (repeat) threads. Sorry if it came across wrong.

As a fan of Edwards, Holland, Magny and Khamzat...well jus about all fighters I do see the frustration with Rankings, Bookings, Political game and gain.

As a fight fan and someone who can't influence shit, I just want good scraps.

Cain is one of the biggest what ifs of all time

personally I think there is enough evidence to suggest had he been more active his record would be scattered with losses.

It’s a shame we never saw Cain vs Stipe or Overeem. I think both men could have beaten Cain however.

Stipe would destroy Cain.

Stipe would destroy Cain.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. If they fought now, Stipe for sure.

However, if we're talking about back then before Cain got injured and sat out for two years. No, it wouldn't have been easy for Stipe.

Cain had just demolished JDS. Stipe was only a year removed from getting finished by Struve. Then JDS beat Stipe convincingly. It wouldn't be a sure thing for Stipe.

Stipe fought JDS 4 years into his MMA career and had a close fight with JDS and finishes JDS in the rematch.

Cain isnt a can and im sure Stipe would struggle against him but would inevitably knock Cain out.

Prime cain was an absolute force and could have beat any hw in history on any given night. How many guys can you say that about. Maybe 3 at this point in the sports history. Fedor Cain and stipe. Cain will never be on the level of legend like fedor, cc, nog, stipe, weredum....

Even Cowboy never managed more than 4 in a year, shits impressive.

Notice that most guys fighting that many times are crushing their opponents.

I don't think Fig for example would be willing to fight on a few weeks notice after last Saturday. Hell he probably wants 6-8 months off before he does that again.

Prime Cain is a myth buddy. Stipe already surpassed Cain in every way possible and would absolutely wreck Cain.

Stipe is the biggest myth.

Has beaten a SINGLE guy in their prime in his "epic run" since Struve knocked him silly.

Stipe got his face battered by 40 year old, aging DC.
Imagine was prime cain in his late 20s, early 30s would do to him lmao.

This is some cerrone-esque work rate out of this guy. How can anyone not be a fan. This guy is a superstar in the making. He's almost there. He's going to be the A side of every fight he gets aside from.Izzy for now.

He makes Cerrone look like Cain Velasquez. Holland and Khazmat want to be more like Jeremy Horn.

He is amazing but he wouldn't be calling out Khazmat if he was going to be the A side. Khazmat is going to be the A side hence why he is being called out by everybody.

Yeah, compare Kevin Holland's career to Nick Diaz, GSP, Cain, and other bums who fight once every Olympic cycle or so. Yet, who do Sherdoggers make threads about?

Jarl

No need to apologise as I didn't take it as an attack. Even if you were thinking I was being a "Hater" you were respectful in your comments and I responded in kind. I actually like discussing MMA on here but it is rare. Too often it is Hyperbolic threads or responses to threads that are over the top one way or the other. I like good fights and I like watching guys and even women climb the ranks and EARN a shot. My biggest issue is when the UFC puts so much into a fighter and end up giving them so much power. Look at how much control McGregor now has and has exercised since getting his LW title fight. He held two divisions up, literally for years. He also has two UFC fights in the 4 years after winning his 2nd UFC title. I hope they don't push Khamzat to a WW & MW title consecutively and then see him sitting around holding the UFC divisions hostage.
