Holding Pads For Carlos Newton

He use to work at a night club at the Thompson hotel in Toronto few years back...as security. Around 2010/2011

That's what I'm saying; guys like him working security or Mark Kerr selling cars is a travesty. Sure they may of fought for pre-Zuffa UCF but they were champions and hugely influential champions at that. Not to say they shouldn't have to work but bringing them in yearly for press events and biopics would, not only be the right thing to do but, easily enrich the newer fan's grasp on the sport.

Every UFC champion should have a retirement pension of 50k a year just so we don't have the former champion homeless story in our sport. It's a brutal sport that literally takes everything from it's athletes and while the sport doesn't owe them a nice life they certainly should make sure their former champions are never too poor to live.

I thought Newton cut back on MMA because he was going through to be a doctor?

If you are bad with money, you'll find a way to piss it all away. Mike Tyson is a classic example. At least he isn't out on the street, but he is not high on the hog like he should be. It all boils down to whether someone is good with what resources they have or not. I don't see why there should be a welfare state for ex-champs.

He's supposedly an instructor at Revolution MMA, but I don't know if he's a regular there or not.

He's also working out of Warrior MMA as far as I know.
