I used to think I knew how to throw hiza guruma... but after a lot of talking on the Judo forums with high ranking Judo instructors, I'm convinced I am clueless.

I actually pulled this off tonight in randori.

Granted, it was like my partners first or second time ever being there(haha) But whatever. I can still be a little happy about it :icon_chee

I love the one when you hit it on the "holding lapel" sidem can get so much power out from it

 

Whenever I try to throw this in randori, I look like an idiot. Man, this one takes some practice.

 

also, if you cant completely go through with the throw, there are MANY MANY combos you can link on to it.

hiza guruma -> tai otoshi is one im working on. i just wish the japanese boys weren't so tough to throw!

 

It is a big boys throw for sure IMO

small dudes have their drop seonagis leave the Hiza for us
