I realize the shock of the main event tonight is still fresh, but let's try to begin to piece this together

Did we all make an oversight, here? I mean, Mike beat Anderson Silva fair and square. Granted, Silva is more near the end of his career than the beginning, but he didn't have a particularly bad fight. He didn't look particularly slow or sloppy, in fact he was damn solid with his usual flashes of greatness.

I'm guilty as well, but I think the clues were there and we just didn't see them.

Silva won that fight.
Nah man. He didn't by any stretch. He definitely didn't win the decision and it's fairly obvious he didn't finish Mike. Soooo... No. Let's keep it on topic and realistic

Realistic is the decision was close, but the ass-beating was severely one-sided in Silva's favor.

If the fight were judged as a whole, no judge alive would've given Bisping the decision, even the corrupt Brits.

maybe silva isnt completely shot afterall

Hey, now there's a positive outlook on all this!

I think most would really disagree

Silva is old but he's just a better class of fighter than Rockhold will ever be. Here is something to think about: When Rockhold is 41! 41! How would he go against tonights Bisping? That shows you how good Anderson is, and how deadly he was in his prime.

Then I think most would really be fucked in the head.

Ive made it clear from the beggining that bispings style presents difficulties for anderson, wether he is older or not. I think anderson doesnt like bispings non comittal jab because he uses it to hide the real punches, and anderson needs to see whats coming in order for him to do his work. Thats why he got stumbled and dropped, and there was no matrixing going on. He legit didnt see the shots he got hit with, and this made him pensive about running into something when he should have turned it up (the beggining of round 4 and the front kick in round 5)

Silva got wobbled in round 1 then dropped in round 2

Bisping won 3 rounds to 2

Bisping is currently the better fighter

Get the absolute fuck over it already you pleb

make mike bisping vs silva 2, rockhold vs weidman 2, jacare vs. romero 2

Kinda funny looking back at it, Andy is MW GOAT and continues to show how incredibly hard it is to win 10(really 11) title fights in a row. I think everyone agrees Luke is the more skilled fighter between him and Bisping, but it's MMA. I think we should all appreciate our long time champs throughout UFC history a bit more, no fighter is really 100% going into a fight and with all the pressure and distractions it's truly amazing what guys like Andy,GSP,Jose Aldo, have achieved.

Hard to find anything to disagree with there. I don't dislike Luke, in fact I think he's awesome despite his lack of a solid boxing game. Great mixed martial artist. Probably would beat Anderson today. But I think I agree.

It's weird too, because I'm a firm believer that as time goes on, athletes in any given sport do get better and the overall talent pool does evolve and improve. But man, Anderson put together a run and a highlight reel of techniques that can't be ignored. Amazing. I hope there are more like him soon. The cream has to rise to the top at some point, despite this being a quickly growing sport. It's just that everyone is becoming so good so fast that you can never really call it

The more righteous man won. The cosmos frowns upon men like Rockhold.

Context man. It's a fair strike, a beautiful strike. Does he land it if Bisping isn't making the stupid mistake of not paying attention to the fucking spider in front of him? Hard to say, and I refuse to take anything away from Anderson for it.

But it should be a testament that Bisping can take a blow like that and not only continue, but win the fight. That means he must have put together an extremely impressive fight outside of being on the wrong end of such a devastating knee.
