He's older, rustier, and smaller (mass) but Silva is a horrible stylistic matchup for DC

Silva is long and tall and thrives against straight-ahead, come-right-at-you types like DC. DC has great wrestling in the clinch but Anderson's clinch game is no slouch and again height matters in the clinch when you can strike (ask Firas Zahabi - he is adamant about this. Also note what the taller Jones was able to do clinching in their first fight).

Cormier should still be the favorite - as I said weight, strength, age, and ring rust are all factors too -but it wouldn't surprise me all that much if Silva stayed outside and circled and countered when DC made a mistake and got a KO. I just think Cormier's style is tailor-made for the Spider.

Discuss.

I hope so. But I think Anderson is getting crushed.

wouuld love to see Silva give DC the Belfort kick to the face!

The way I see it, if someone's a terrible matchup in this is Cormier for Silva.

Andy doesn't like dem wrestlerz.

DC is the bigger, heavier and stronger version of Weidman how the hell is Silva a horrible stylistic matchup for him?

I have this feeling DC is going to put a beating on Silva, I hope I'm wrong though lol.

DC will put him on his back. it is going to be a Boring fight

Weidman moves very differently on the feet than DC. DC comes right at guys much more predictably IMO than Weidman.

Silva struggles with aggressive wrestlers. Hes going up against an Olympic wrestler that threw Hendo like a toddler. DC by UD unless Andy gets a perfect time flash one shot KO

Silva better take it seriously and fight for a finish. If he drops his hands and sticks his chin out I'll lose hope of ever seeing another win streak from him.

May very well be true, but Silva has pulled Ws out before against guys with suffocating top game (Chael)

He did, no arguments there. But Chael, as much as I like him, is nowhere near DC and gave Andy a pretty hard time.

DC is similar to Wiedman. And will crush Silva similar to Wiedman. Silva excelled against undisciplined brawlers. DC has good hands and is disciplined. He wont run at Anderson throwing predictable right left over hands just head hunting.

I'm actually worried about Anderson's safety (I'm not really, but lets pretend). I think DC might kill him.

Good points all around - as I said DC should stil be the favorite. But also Silva has such a big height length advantage which could give DC problems. Did you notice the height difference at weigh-ins?

Good point, mate. I did, and it was actually bigger than I thought it would be. Let's see how it goes.
