RESPECT MUTHERFUCKERS

People hate Ronda because of her legacy, she brought WMMA to the UFC.

Ronda is one of the worst MMA fighters of all time. The fact that it took this long for her to get found out shows how rubbish WMMA is.

title wins and defenses don't tell even half the story about any fighter. ronda put two horrible performances as soon as she started to face actual strikers. not good enough and that's about it. good hype job while it lasted.

She did great things for WMMA, I'll give you that. But for a while she was the only shark in the pool. They were hyping her fights as epic victories weh she was subbing soccer moms.

What exactly would your newb ass know about it. Your statement is absolutely ridiculous. Every champion in MMA
is defeated at some point, and usually multiple times. It's easy in retrospect to say "they were never any good," but the facts don't back that up.

"Soccer moms." Like for example Cat Zingano, who is a mother, and TKOed Amanda Nunes?

Your argument amounts to a sexist belief with nothing to back it up. Meanwhile Rousey is a 9 time defending champ, an Olympic medalist, and defeated another Olympic medalist in the cage in Sara McMann; ALSO A MOTHER.

These women have proven their talent on multiple stages, not only WMMA.

Proves that with favorable match up you can create frauds and hype them as legit well rounded MMA phenoms but all it takes is a "bad stylistic matchup" to beat that.

Cat and Miesha were legit, I will give you that. Too bad they chose to fght Ronda like idiots.

Yeah, never mind what she accomplished in the cage and ring. Easier to just say "She was never any good" after she loses.

Meanwhile, look at how unsuccessful these fighters were after their title defense streak was snapped:

-CroCop: age 33. Headkicked by Gonzaga. Went 9-9 after that. Retired.

-Wanderlei Silva: age 30. KOd by CroCop, then KOd by Hendo in next fight. Went 4-7 after that.

-Matt Hughes: age 33. Lost title to GSP. Went 4-5 after that. Retired.

-B.J. Penn: age 31. Lost title to Edgar. Record of 1-5 after that. Retired. (Coming back).

-Rampage: age 30. Lost UFC title. Went 8-7 after that.

Every fighter falls from grace. It doesn't erase their accomplishments.

What about those of us who are 10-year black belt posters who called this back when Ronda was at her very peak?

Her grappling is up there with the best, she was just very one dimensional. She always walked through punches.

Yes, she helped bring WMMA to the forefront. But the W-BW had been stuck in the stone ages for a very long time and had NO high level strikers, pretty much all but one of her opponents played right into her strength (Bethe). Ronda was a master armbar specialist and was strong in the clinch due to her judo. But as soon as the division actually had strikers good enough to be on top, it was a wrap. The division was very much behind the times, RR was great at what she did, but let's not act like she was this unstoppable force. Again, great pioneer for WMMA, but not nearly as great as advertised. It was fun while it lasted, but the strikers are finally coming to W-BW...well, maybe...hopefully.

Interesting point if you look at Matt Hughes, tied at 9

Wrestling dominant in his division until they increased their striking

RESPECT MUTHERFUCKERS

respect what? the fact that she had the luxury of all her fights being title fights? easy to pile up wins in title fights when that's what the matchmakers give you every time!
look at other guys on the list and wins they had in non title fights against opponents 10x more talented than anyone ronda fought but based on the criteria of your list those wins count for nothing.

Ronda is like Roger Bannister, before him everyone thought it was impossible to run a sub 4 minute mile, one he showed everyone it was possible, everyone starting doing it like it was no big deal. Holly is Ronda's Roger Bannister. Showed everyone it's possible to beat her and the blue print. So now, I'm afraid she's a lower top 10 fighter.

Ronda is basically the Bill Goldberg of UFC. Got popular because of squash matches until people stopped caring.
