Hendricks vs Gastelum

Why is no one talking about this fight !?
It was, for me, FOTN, definitely epic and deserves dissection, props and attention for both fighters to hopefully get them better fights/pay next.
Hendricks must have a titanium skull and a very small brain to not bounce off it, as for Gastelum, what hand speed and coordination !

Gastelum looked really good, but that may just be because Hendricks looked not very good. I never thought Hendricks was very good from the start though. Gast has a ton of potential.

Agreed. This was the most exciting fight on the card.
More important, though, is how awful the judging was. There's no way that Gastelum won the second round.

He missed a few jabs which he'll need to work on and you're right about Hendricks, that was proven by Gast leading with heavy straights and hooks in round two as he clearly found Hendricks slow and an easy read but still !!
Also, Hendricks did have some power there, noted by Gast's reaction when hit and lack of commitment / playing it safe when following up a bomb that had Hendricks rocked.

I wanted Kelvin to KTFO Hendricks for shit talking the sparring while Kelvin was a rookie.

The only reason this didn't get FOTN is they didn't want Hendricks to be rewarded for missing weight? I dunno. I hope Kelvin got a fat lockerroom bonus. Kelvin's jab was excellent but between rounds Hendricks must have gotten good corner advice because he started putting together better combos in the 2nd. I thought it was a great fight too TS.
