This. Colby is getting paid peanuts. If Colby is asking even 200k, that isn't unreasonable.Reminder: Colby got $45k show/$45k win for his Lawler fight.
So, when they say "too much"...

Well if his last fight was 45k to show I'd say he's probably getting low-balled. A main event and the title unification bout, he should get at least double that (and that's by the greedy standards of the UFC)
Until I hear the amount he's asking to be paid, I will assume the UFC is doing what they always do. So far only the Diaz bros had the courage to stand up to Zuffa.
To me it's commendable, if you're not getting what you think you're worth then 'just say no.' DFW always bragging about all his money and capital, and wasting a million at a casino in one night. Maybe the UFC needs a new promoter... DFW's gambling could have funded the next 4 or 5 headliners at least for an adequate pay day.
As long as fighters just accept the Corporate bullshit, nobody going to get paid justly.
Work for free today and if youre as good as you say maybe we will pay you next time.
Fake news.
Im not a fan of Colby or Marty. More of a Mas fan I guess. The UFC isn't going to invest more $ to ensure the right guys fight for the belt if they don't like dealing with the challenger and/or dont believe he will give them the financial boost that makes it worth their while.
They can bypass Colby and just spam Masvidal's last couple highlight reel KO's and fool enough people into believing he's the rightful guy who should be next.
From a business perspective it's completely understandable. From a fan's perspective (a non-casual fan) it makes it really difficult to put much stock into titles and if they are actually representative of who the best is.
Colby annoys the hell out of me and I mostly root against him. But acting like it shouldn't be him vs Usman...cmon. And as a fan it's hard for me to reconcile not paying him a bit more (granted I dont know his exact contract situation or what they are offering) when Dana has a net worth of like 600 million or something.
Use the trade thing and bring Rory home after the Lima fight.
Diaz vs Masvidal is the bigger fight than the title match.
Usman had flashbacks of Till’s and Askren’s lifeless corpses on the mat while Jorge was still pounding on their mangled faces...It would be hilarious if Colby actually priced himself out of the fight and then Usman straight up declined Masvidal.
Nate vs Masvidal. Make it happen Goof.
