Dunno man, can you convince me that GSP is better than Diaz at anything accept tackling? Maybe leg kicks?
Have you seen Diaz's first few fights in the UFC? he swept all the wrestlers that got on top of him and stuffed 17 of 19 TD's from Sherk easily and dropped Diego Sanchez in the 3rd.
His BJJ game off his back is very active, he's always working for a submission or a sweep. And really, Nick Diaz isn't an easy fight for anybody. GSP staying in Nick's guard and bumping him with elbows isn't the best idea because Nick is the most dangerous guy from the guard that GSP will face and every person that stayed in his guard either got swept, submitted, or went back to standing position.
We all saw that GSP didn't want to mess with Shields on the ground, and both those guys train together and imo Nick is more crafty off his back than Shields. Shields is mostly a top position guy, just like BJ Penn. Diaz is dangerous on top or off his back.
Why will it be a good fight? well, have you really ever been bored when any of the Diaz bros were fighting? if anything, GSP will be the one to make the fight boring. Diaz is always working and never stalls and is always trying to finish.
So has he ever beaten a top wrestler? Yes he sweeps guys allot (so does Condit) but facts are he always loses close decisions to wrestlers. He has not faced any good ones in like 5 years so maybe he can sub top wrestlers now but he has never shown that he will be able to sub GSP who is WAY better in top control then anyone Nick has fought.
Chances are GSP keeps it standing and takes advantage of Nicks ridiculously poor footwork

BJ Penn is a pretty dang good MMA wrestler, who happened to outwrestle Jon Fitch in the first two rounds. Just because he hasn't wrestled at the NCAA D1 level doesn't mean his wrestling in MMA isn't any good
Diaz dealt with Penn's offensive wrestling just fine - far better than Fitch
Penn is a amazing MMA wrestler when fresh! I would even say one of the best. But he got 3 of his TDs stuffed in the second and third round when he was incredibly gassed.
Does that really matter anyways? Nick WONT stuff GSPs TDs (no one does) and GSPs top control is as good as it gets. hat do you expect to happen? Nick stuffs GSPs TDs and lights him up on the feet? GSP takes him down and gets subbed? Thats not happening!
Only way GSP will lose at WW is if a better version of him comes along or someone with KO power lands a big strike that he does not see coming.
Why are you bringing up GSP/Diaz all of a sudden?
In my post you quoted, the point I am making is that BJ Penn actually a good MMA wrestler, which is a response to your inaccurate claim that "Diaz hasn't faced a good wrestler in MMA in the past 5 years"
I even attached GIFs to corroborate my point

Ok i should have said Nick has not faced any good wrestlers that can last more then one round without gassing. Penn is a great wrestler for ONE round! Nick stuffing Penn when he was gassed does not impress me
Woodly probobly would gas.
Honestly, I could see Hendricks KOing Diaz early. He has C-4 in his hands and Diaz is not exactly the hardest guy to hit.

For your information, BJ took down Fitch in Round 2 as well, but couldn't take down Nick beyond Round 1. If anything, you'd think BJ would be more gassed against Fitch after spending some time on his back near the end of Rd 1...since conventional wisdom goes: grappling is more physically taxing than striking.
He arguably beat Sherk, who won the LW title in his next fight. Nick outlanded Sherk and got the better of the grappling.
He also arguably beat Joe Riggs as well. He landed double the amount of strikes that Riggs threw at him, and defended 5 out of 8 TD's and even dropped Riggs.
I truly believe that people that say Nick can't hang with wrestlers honestly never watched his fights against them and just looked at Wikipedia. Nick, Nate, and their team have already stated that if it's a close fight, they're never going to get the judges decision even if they should have won in most people's eyes. They're not just fighting their opponent, they're fighting the judges too. Especially in Nick's case, 2 close fights against Sherk and Riggs that tons of people thought Nick should have won Cecil People's acts like Nick got his ass kicked.
But I'll let Jay Jay take it from here, not in the mood for arguing today.
At the end of the day "arguably" does not mean shit! GSP, Jones, Anderson, Aldo etc.. they CLEARLY handle wrestlers not arguably. Nick can hang with wrestlers (GSP is 10 times the wrestler he has ever fought though) but you need to better then just "hang" with wrestlers to show you have any chance with GSP.
Nick wasn't even a black belt level at the time, and he was sweeping these guys and giving them some of their hardest fights. They were 6-7 years ago, Nick has improved and he'll fight GSP. Win/lose, he's going to give GSP a hell of a fight off his back.

At the end of the day none of this subjective breaking down of future fights means shit. On paper Diaz has at least a good chance of giving GSP a tough fight off his back. There's not too many previous or potential opponents of/for GSP we can say that about.
It should be exciting, cant any of us even agree on that? lol
