Trying to find a movie from my childhood and need some help.

Its from the early 90s or late 80's, comedy. About a guy that has to go stay with his parents for some reason. His Dad is suicidal and unsuccessful tries to kill himself. One of the attempts was driving the wrong way on the freeway blindfolded in what I think was a long 2 door convertible cadillac.

The dad looked like Richard Dreyfus. The son could have been Steve Gutenberg but it doesn't seem like either of those is right.

Been driving me nuts for a couple days, would love some some help from the homies.

Person who solves it gets deli girl's nudes and number.
