With Fedor's Heavyweight GOAT status being questioned I wonder who is Sherdog's consensus Heayweight GOAT?

I'm still team Fedor but I'm old school.

Who do you think is Heavyweight GOAT and in your opinion what exactly makes them GOAT?

no one is questioning his previous achievements, only saying he looked like crap in his last fight and should stay home and be a family man.

Depends, are we talking about some bubble of time from 20 years ago, a space of one or two years, or heavyweights who have consistantly fought top competition for countless years?
 
For me, Fedor Emilanenko is the greatest fighter i have ever seen so of course he will be the best heavyweight. He was humble in his victories and his speed and overall technique was something i have witnessed before in my 20+ years of watching various MMA events. I'm a "traditionalist" so i rather much enjoy the notion of him being reserved in his manner and showed glaring respect to his opponents. So yes, Fedor Emilanenko is the best heavyweight i have ever seen. People will disagree strongly, and you cannot say that is would be wrong. We as individuals will see MMA and witness it in various degrees of experience. Everyone will have a different view of who will be great and good for them, so that in itself must be respected. Arguing over who's (GOAT) list is better is an absolutely fruitless expedition.

Werdum
Cain

And JDS / Reem can sneak in there depends how the landscape will look in 2 or so years.. hoping Cain advances in position and maybe Werdum replaced by Reem or JDS who ever does better in his next fights.
 
Fedor is the MMA HW GOAT. Despite his awful performance yesterday.
 
If someone can come close to what he did between 23 June 2002 and 26 June 2010 then they are worthy of consideration

Defeats: Hunt then Fedor then takes the belt away from Cain (yes he won it again) then defends JDS and Reem only to be defeated by Cain in the rubber match but already had made great progress to be in the top 5 Goat talk. Retired after he defeats Mir in the rubber match.

I thought it was a dumb question but I was curious if most of us were still on the same page.
 
Fedor could lose to Justin Bieber at this point, he'd still be GOAT. He's way past his prime and is fighting because he didn't make any significant money during his reign.
