I have a question concerning what headgear would be suitable for large heads. I have tried on some adjustable universal fit and some size xl headgear and none of those will fit. I havent taken a head measurement but i have a size 2xl motorcycle helmet if that helps anything haha. I am going to be using the headgear for sparring in kickboxing and budget doesnt much matter. Thanks!

Best thing you can do is email some of the companies and ask if they can custom make an XXXL size headgear for ya.

What particular headgears have you tried that were too small for you even in XL?

Oh, and getting an accurate head measurement will really help your cause.

And here I thought I had a big head. I usually wear the largest available size for headgear if there's an option, and one-size-fits-all is snug but fits well enough on me.

Don't worry guys, if Tito can find headgear that fits then I'm sure there's hope for everyone.

Measured my head at 71 cm around at the forehead.
Looks like the Rival headgear might fit. Anyone give that one a try?

Damn, that is big. I can see why you have such a problem finding the right size. Mine is around 63 cm and I already end up getting the largest size at that, and yours is significantly bigger.

I'll say it again, your best bet is to email or call the customer service line of the store/company you're looking to buy from, and tell them your measurement so they can give you the best possible fitting headgear. Waiting for someone with a similar sized head to post info is a toss up on how long that could take, so call or email directly if you want a quicker answer.

edit: btw, I checked out the Rival website, and this is the sizing chart they had:

    Sizes: Small (53-55cm), Medium (56-58 cm), Large (59-61cm), X-Large (62-64 cm)

looks like you might be too big for the XL

Whaaat? Then you're head is smaller than mine, bro. Well, just a little. LOL :D

You should have not trouble fitting into XL, or maybe even L but that might be a bit tight.

damn, i was about to say you have a HUMONGOUS noggin.

but, i talked to boomer as i also have a pretty frickin big head, and he recommended me this headgear by fightgear.
Competition Headgear - with Cheek Protectors at Ringside.com

it fits pretty well, and is super comfortable. a small local company also makes headgear for me that fits but has less padding. my advice would be to try out different boxing/martial arts supply stores and see what kind you are comfortable with, but my first suggestion would be fightgear all the way.

What size headgear do you wear, Mayhem? Can you fit into XL comfortably?

Please do. :) I think you should be okay in an XL though. They stretch out a bit with usage so there's some give in the sizing.

One other fat head related problem I have... my jaw/chin and cheek areas are thick, so when I wear full-face headgear with the chinguard (I recently got Title GEL full-face), it tends to pinch awful tight in those areas. I have less of this problem with traditional headgears, because I can loosen the chin strap for a better fit.

Update! I bought a rival boxing traditional headgear and it fits great. I think there is room for an even larger head then mine!
Excellent quality headgear and customer service

Thanks for updating us. I ended up getting some Winning Mexican-style headgear in the biggest size available. I'll let you all know how that turns out.
