I was rooting for Oz until this latest episode. Without spoiling anything, I don't agree with how he handled sibling rivalry.
That was very necessary, though. Like with Tony Soprano, Vic Mackey, etc, we run the risk of relating too much to these characters who are irredeemable. His speech standing on the tailgate made you acknowledge and even respect what he was saying. The writers smartly remind us every now and then that this is still a villain.
It shows a lot more when you think about how he told Victor that "It gets easier," when it was easy for him even as a kid.

My little nitpick about the show is the small holes in how Oz escapes out of some sticky situations.

Is normal. Batman goes after psychotic criminals with nothing more than a bullet-proof costume and martial arts. Anyone trying that without Plot Armour would get killed before the end of their first week.

It was established quite early hes a complete piece of shit, nice job by show btw going for underdog that has zero redeeming qualities

Like in tonights episode he straight up abandons his crew to get killed by bomb, could have atleast yelled that run or something lol
I love how he's able to convince people to work for him and us, the audience, as well that he cares but he abandons people at every single turn. What a silver-tongued devil! He's just trying to live to the next day, damn anybody else

I think Sofia's plan...

to hurt Oz is to reveal to Oz's mom what truly happened to her two dead sons and that it was Oz's fault they died, thereby making Oz's mom hate and reject Oz which will truly hurt Oz.
<TheWire1>

P.s. Makes sense, eventhough I was convinced and expected that there would be Oz's Mom's body in the van until the very last moments.

In hindsight, my expectations do not make sense. Sophia would've lost all leverage if she had done that.

This Penguin serial riffs less on The Manbat and more on certain segments of White Heat.

While I don’t disagree with you, how would Sofia know unless Oz was dumb enough to tell her?

Show has a lot of convenience going on with it as it is… Guess they’d just slap together another flashback to show how Sofia would know.

It was not his original plan for it to end that way.

BUt once he realized it might, you saw him have a second of pause, and then he looked at his mom and was ok with it.

That was cold blooded the way he looked out at the rain, took a pause and settled in to it with no regret.

I think Oz's Mom suspected that all her life. Maybe, even on subconscious level. Even if she didn't want to admit that to herself.

A few McSessions with red lights with dr. Rush may have brought that info to Sofia's attention.
