Have you heard of ‘Stolen Valor’

There are apparently people who choose to dress like military personnel, even though they’ve never seen a second of military life. I’ve heard those saying it’s not a big deal, and I couldn’t disagree more. There’s no telling how many thousands or millions these ingrates have STOLEN from real military members, not to mention the government. FYI, wearing a military uniform without prior service is fucking ILLEGAL. I would love to see every single one of those phonies hauled off by the police for trying to get a free benefits. I've had some weird stolen valor experiences. Had a guy in the club claim to be in my unit when he was really a POG. I kind of felt bad for him because he was ashamed of his job in the military. I've always been proud of my service, but I wasnt a desk jockey.

Another time I had a guy tell me he had deployed with me when he didn't. He was bragging about things that didn't happen and the bar had to separate us before I murdered him.

It’s just sad. I didn’t enjoy my job, but that’s the majority of the planet. I haven’t seen anyone doing this. They really need to make more checks and balances. A woman stole over 70,000 in benefits from the VA with a fake DD214!

Invading Iraq and Afghanistan may not have been as noble as killing Nazis, hundreds of service members have performed incredible individual acts of valor in order to protect their comrades, innocent civilians, children, etc.
