We keep talking about it, words have become mumble, mumble have become whispers, whispers have become silence. As time goes on, the superfight is yet to come to the UFC world.
So yeah, we have had unifications bouts (anderson vs henderson), interim vs champion bouts (condit vs gsp, couture vs ortiz..) but we never really had two current champions from two different weight classes knocking each other's heads out.
And finally, when this day came, when we could finally sit our asses down with excitment, waiting for two monsters of strikers going to battle, when we could finally calm ourselves and smile at the idea that everyone was healthy, focused, and gone through their respective fight camps, the GOOF breaks his foot.

    for f sake man.

So i guess we're now back at hyping giga super fights while in reality we cry silently in a dark room eating ice cream and reaching for the leftovers.

Wand v Chuck was massive at the time, there was no better fight in any combat sport and it was a pretty epic fight..

BJ Penn vs GSP. At the time they were both dominating their divisions and had the history of a close fight years prior. I don't really understand something being called a superfight when both champs still have guys who are credible threats to their titles. For instance, Jones/Silva would have been a bona-fide, legitimate superfight, or Silva/GSP

For real fight fans, we've had some superfights so far:

    Penn GSP 2
    Alistair Overeem vs Brock Lesnar
    Aldo vs Edgar
    Cruz vs TJ

Every Conor fight has super fight hype

GSP vs Penn 2 was the dictionary definition of a superfight.

How the hell was Overeem vs Lesnar a superfight? Cain beat the shit out of Brock beforehand.
